Topic: Cannot install new distro via usb after installing Crunchbang

I love to distro hop and I am always installing new linux distros via usb. After installing the latest Crunchbang distro I tried swithing to a few different other linux distros and every time I try to boot them I get a black screen with a blinking _

I have tried 3 different usb drives and my cards are formatted to FAT32, I have tried using unetbootin and pendrivelinux,

Its always the same black screen so it has to be something irrelevant to the distro and usb drive

Thank you all for any help

Re: Cannot install new distro via usb after installing Crunchbang

There's no reason installing #! should effect your computer's behavior when booting from a USB drive. I suppose you could physically unplug the drive that has #! on it to make sure? Other than that, all I can suggest is to double check and make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the usb drive.

Why try to think outside the box, when we could just set the box on fire?

Must be national odd borkage dy or summin, nobody told me, I didna get the memo dang it ! neutral

Random thought about it, this is a hail mary play fellas. Goes w/o saying done @ your own risk. Don't think or see much reason it'd hurt anything. Well ... depending on how you go about it. Only feel better having typed that. I have no idea why installing #! would cause these kinda problems either. If you think your comps bios have been borked, there's always stuff like ... this link. Resetting them is an option you can consider.
