For me though, QuakeLive is still then king of linux games smile

Yes, love me some QuakeLive too... I used to be a beast in Team Arena, but some of these guys seemed like they never stopped playing! My skills have gone way down since the TA days.

There goes a dog-fish, chased by a cat-fish, in flew a sea robin, watch out for that piranha, there goes a narwhal, here comes a bikini whale!

Anybody plays some free or paid mmorpgs?

I play WoW on Latin America Servers.

I've been trying to play air mech, but I seem to never be able to get into a match.

Re: #! Gamers

One of my favorite games lately is a Quake 1 mod called RetroBlazer.

It has a standalone Linux version, so no Quake files needed. Multiplayer is to come.

edit: I don't think there is a standalone Linux version. Looks like, for the native Linux game, you'd have to download this and then the Dark Places engine. The win standalone works in WINE, however.

Re: #! Gamers

Definitely going to try out RetroBlazer, thanks for the link ominousG!

Personally I like to play Minecraft, Stone Soup (a roguelike), and Vex. Starting to get into Dwarf Fortress, but it's a little tough right now.

It's funny, I used to really be into AAA videogames, the latest and greatest etc, but I can definitely have just as much if not more fun playing roguelikes and Minecraft. I own an Xbox, so I have some games on there. But primarily, I've found theres nothing wrong with some of the more 'retro' games.

Plus when you can do that, you suddenly have no need for a great computer, and can focus on other attributes that you like (for example the battery life of a notebook, weight, size, or price). It's more than a little freeing.

Re: #! Gamers

I just started playing some linux native games, WTF, VVVVVV defines the term "rage quit", a term I only saw a few times on the internet when guys were talking about a frustrating game tongue  Im addicted to this game, and yet Im sure the neighbors are going to call the cops about my screaming in utter frustration when I die in the same spot for a 1/2 hour straight.

Thanks supremanade for pointing out this game, or should I be thanking you considering my blood pressure because of this game is through the roof tongue

Is someone else watching the live/webcam at humblebundle.com seeing notch, major minecraft developer and his team, programming within 60 hours a brand new game?
