i like the idea, but i'd change the colors (tisn't the season anymore), get rid of "crunchbang" and the slogan and use a font like Univers or a very bold helvetica.

Hehe, it did look much like christmas, but any other combination is over used.  hmm

& about the fonts, I've yet to get my font collection back.  Thanks for the suggestions, though. smile

One idea is to leave the "#" and "!" fields transparent or just lightly tinted, so that the actual color or gradient is determined by the user...
