Topic: Remastering #!

How can I :

Boot #! in VMWare then make my changes then repack the squashfs filesystem and put it back into the .iso file?

Any takers?

I am running #! off USB thumbdrives on some embedded systems and i need to make changes affecting all of them frequently, so i really need a way to maintain a master image then copy it onto these thumbdrives one after another.

peace

I have not tried remastering a remastered image, but if you would like to give it a go, enter the following terminal command:

sudo remastersys dist

Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

P.S. Welcome to the forums smile

Re: Remastering #!

i didn't really think that through before i wrote it...typical.    all i really need to do is boot off the current thumbdrive, make my changes, then just do a diskcopy from thumbdrive to thumbdrive on another machine.

really just talking about major upgrades to mplayer (the only app they will be running) or if i wanted to start rolling out another app down the road on new builds.

i'm running crunchbang on the ARTIGO Pico ITX mini computers that are built around the VIA mb with the Atom processor. I stick them (literally with velcro sometimes) on the back of Plasma/LCD TV's and install them as digital signage.

So thanks for being a propellerhead and giving me this platform. I certainly appreciate the hard work.

Yes I will donate in the near future. My pleasure.
