Topic: [SOLVED]Strange Forum log-in action

As an avid mountain biker I also frequent a MTB forum but have noticed a strange phenomena in both Firefox and Chrome and after running Ubuntu where this phenomena did not occur, I can only surmise that somehow it must be related to Crunchbang.

If I open up this particular page without logging onto the forum, the number of pages in the particular thread are displayed but if I log-on, the pages numbers of that thread do not appear.

1st pic shows not logged in
2nd pic shows logged in

Is this a cookie storage problem, or is there a missing dependency somewhere ?

Re: [SOLVED]Strange Forum log-in action

Don't think it's something related to cookie management because you used two different browsers with different cookies.

You tried with ubuntu and it worked, maybe it's an openbox problem.

Re: [SOLVED]Strange Forum log-in action

I cannot confirm that problem:

Try going to My Account > Edit Option > tweak the options for "Thread Display Mode" and "Number of Posts to Show Per Page". If that doesn't help ask on that forum.

BTW if you wish to contact me, send me an e-mail instead of a PM.

Re: [SOLVED]Strange Forum log-in action

as annon suggests, its probably a forum-settings problem. When your not logged in it uses default settings, when you do login, it uses your personal account settings.

Re: [SOLVED]Strange Forum log-in action

Thanks Anon, adjusting those forum settings helped.

It does seem strange though, how those settings "changed".
