Re: about the network manager

Hey this is a great thread! I also want to know it! Why?! Why does the modem work? IN my first times in linux world I had to do insane work to make my old usb modem (which I don't use anymore) work on ubuntu!

Actually I love crunchbang because it works well on all my machines with no headache.
Incently i recently plugged in a wifi pcmcia card with no information on it (comes from my adsl box and manufacturer).

I could not get it to work and forgot it. Until I rebooted crunchbang who identified the new card, downloaded the appropriate driver (thourhg the other wifi connection) and then told me it was up and running

I was amazed.

Re: about the network manager

I dont want to start a whole new topic for one little question, so I guess this is the best post to ask it in, does Crunchbang work with the Philips PH12127-E PH11107-E wireless networl card? Is there a hardware compatibilty list somewhere for Crunchbang?

Re: about the network manager

@mrs tux, crunchbang is based off of ubuntu (for the 9.04 release of crunchbang), or debian (for the newer Statler Alphas).
Either way, if the hardware works in debian, or ubuntu, it will probably work in crunchbang. You should search for that model with regards to these two parent distros.
Doing a quick google search, i havent found any issues.

You can always try the livecd before you install, and see if its recognized (though sometimes it will only be recognized after an install).
