Topic: Minimal Compiz Debian Install [A journal]

Hey all, so I'm about to attempt a minimal debian install, and plan to use compiz as a standalone window manager.
Right now i've built upon a openbox and xfce crunchbang 10 alpha 2.

I'm attempting the install on a seconardy laptop first, and i'm using this space to note anything i need to remember, as the install progresses.
Hopefully if all goes well, i can turn this into a howto by the time i'm done smile

Done anything yet? As I'm also trying a Debian netinstall (with Xfce4), I'd like to see what you've done so far smile

Let's do it and don't screw it.

I ended up figuring out iceweasel was the only thing blacking out, so using compiz was no longer an issue.
The install went fine, but it was tricky getting the wireless to work on the laptop.
There are some guides to it floating around, but by the end of things, i found it was easier to start with Statler and remove the stuff i don't want.
