Topic: Statler XFCE shortcut keys on Thinkpad with no ''super key''

I've been using 9.04 OB for several months now, and had made a xmodmap file to remap the super key from the non-existent ''windows'' key on my Thinkpads, to use either the Caps Lock or the right Alt key.  This works great on my old install, but now that I've installed Statler XFCE, I can't get the shortcut keys to work at all on my Thinkpad.  Need a little help and direction, please.

I had the same problem.
Install xbindkeys via Synaptic, or command line, as you prefer.
Make a file in your home folder named .xbindkeysrc   (hidden)
Open a terminal window and type xbindkeys -k . A small popup window will appeare. Hit a key you will use instead of the Win-button. (num-roll -> will be :Scroll_Lock
You will see the code of this key in the terminal.
And then the othr key the same way ( m -> surprise!! : m)
Open .xbindkeysrc and put the name of the app you will launch, this way :

"vlc"
Scroll_Lock + m

and below the key code given binded with +

Save, and launch xbindkeys with " xbindkeys "
You should add to the startup applications xbindkeys.

The same way you can add different key bindings to the apps .
