Full Screen Video Issue

Hello, I'm going to just a write a brief intro here before i get to my problem, hope that's ok. I've just installed Statler Alpha 2 on an oldish laptop thatwas donated to me. My main interest is in learning as much as possible so I'm hoping to fix any issues in the most educational manner, dissapointingly i haven't any except the one below yet but i dont need the computer to be working all the time so i'm hoping to learning the hard way, so to speak

The laptop is a Packard Bell r4650 and everything is working well except every so often the display crashes and i get a "failed to start x server. not set up correctly" message, if i view the more detailed error message the only part that stands out to me says "FATAL: module fbcon not found". The problem doesn't seem to have a consistent cause but i can always replicate it by watching a google video or something in full screen mode, it usually crashes after about 20 minutes.

I thought this might be a problem with the driver which is whatever one crunchbang installs i had a quick google but couldn't find any info on an alternative one to install. The video controller is an onboard Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Video Controller.

Anyway I've gone on but I'd appreciate any help and am happy to get my hands dirty. Thanks.
