There is a new Pear OS 4 video review from my favorite Youtube Linux reviewer:

WOOT! moment i read that (after a giddy dizzy moment of excitement) i rushed to punch in "slitaz get", knowing this would take me to it's download page.
rc2 is out. .... mmmm now lets fire up virtualbox n check out this bad boy. XD
I found slitaz 4.0 rc3 here: http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/cooking/
It has not been announced and I have not tested it yet.
EDIT: I find the increase in the amount of blue in the "supporters" column disturbing...
I find the number of blue to be disturbing too but by my count, there were 43 on January 18 and 35 now, so the percentage of blue went up while the actual numbers went down.

Anyway, the House & Senate are essentially the same as the Lower & Upper Houses of Parliament.
That may be true, but most parliamentary systems use some sort of proportional representation instead of the winner-take-all 50%+1 system used in the USA. In our system, the barrier to even minimal representation of 3rd parties eliminates even the consideration of useful ideas and maintains a system where partisanship and money easily trumps public good.
This "truly free" on-line proxy usually works for me for blocked sites:
Some popular sites, like torrentbox.com, are blocked for USA residents, to avoid the USA's idiotic DMCA law.

Wow. Your corner of the US must be very tech-savvy for those sites to be considered non-techie.
Really?
While tech sites were certainly prominent in the SOPA strike, I don't consider any of these to be aimed at techies:
Wikipedia, Google, Craigslist, Firefox, WordPress (45,000 blogs participated), FunnyOrDie, Reddit, Moveon.org, Democratic Underground, Flickr, etc.
I'm not sure how effective this was. The only two sites I visit regularly that were affected by the blackout were Wikipedia and ...
OTOH non-techies were more likely to notice and get involved with a fairly broad range of major and minor sites.
Rather than view stopping SOPA-PIPA as "just postponed", I prefer to celebrate the fact this resistance to internet censorship was so organized, effective and obviously powerful. It should be a lesson in tactics to help overcome more of the corrupt practices of corporate greed.
At this link, note that over 115,000 web sites participated (including a few of mine), 3 million emails generated, and 10 million signatures collected.
a few more inexpensive "already-shipping" Android 4 tablets from China:

Of course, higher-spec ASUS has a much better reputation for quality than these mostly unknown brands.
This should be available in the first half of 2012.
This is the first reasonably priced tablet to actually interest me.
I hope that Lenovo announces some good competition for this device.

NewCityVegas - perhaps where Planet of The Apes lake scenes were filmed?
Here are the shooting locations for that film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063442/locations
So, if you are just talking "states", you are correct.
OTOH, none of those shooting locations are in the image frame.
Lake Mead
Lake Mead, the USA's largest man-made lake, is in the image frame, but only part of two of the states.
Which other two states in the frame do not contain any part of Lake Mead?
Big Chill, Solyaris (1972), Solaris (2002), Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Vanilla Sky, Contact, Dave, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Annie Hall, Back to the Future, Zardoz (cult classic), Apocalypse Now, Return to Paradise, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Pleasantville, A Beautiful Mind, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dopamine, Awakenings, Avatar
This should also be an easy one - four US states and more than 2 million people.

The USBFormat tool doesn't run in Wine (at least, it doesn't on my Mini), and a similar format with Gparted results in an unbootable USB.
I think it may be nice if there were Linux-specific instructions for those of us who "don't do Windows".
Pendrivelinux's YUMI USB multiboot creator is Windows only.
The USBFormat (BootICE) program also appears to be Windows-only.
If you know someone who can read Chinese, you might check the BootIce creator's web site:
For Linux-only multiboot, you might try this link:

Re: mics, for vocals I tend to prefer the radio broadcaster standard, the Electro-Voice RE20 or PE20

It is just my opinion but I believe all Android 2 and 3 smartphones and tablets will be dead-end technology when enough reasonably-priced Android 4 devices start appearing later in 2012.
I expect a flood of new Android 4 devices from China.
I have so far avoided buying a smartphone or tablet for that reason.
I'll be watching the mentioned link too: http://www.android-sale.com/
I installed the Chromium OS Vanilla build a few weeks ago on a USB drive. I have Intel wifi so I can't help you with that.
I tried the Lime build and it completely locked up my Lenovo notebook. I had to remove the battery to get going again.
What happened to the TPB torrent description page? I'd already shared that link elsewhere earlier today, and now it's coming up 404.
I have no idea what happened but TPB apparently deleted it.
This is a better link anyway, although it is still sitting in moderation because I did not have "installation instructions".
