Not #! atm, but I thought I'd throw it up there anyway...

The thing that annoys me is not everyone's got hours to tweak and mess around with configuring or compiling stuff. I'd seriously miss Ubuntu's repositories should I go to another Distro, playing with Arch, and briefly returning to FreeBSD proved that withing the space of a few days...

Sweet shop, I'll be getting some stuff when I get paid smile

All 9.04 .iso's can be found at http://dontfightthefuture.com/mirror/ - The 8 series ones are there as well....

I've not checked to see if they work with a Live CD, I know that they definately worked on 8.10.1

I saw those other threads, and that's what i'll do if no-ones got any other ideas..

Thanks man..

After finally upgrading to 8.10.2, my multimedia hotkeys (volume/play/pause, etc) no longer work.

It's on a Dell Inspiron 1520, anyone got any ideas where to start troubleshooting this? Everything else worked out of the box, bar the usual Broadcom wlan issues...

Thanks in advance smile

Ed

Welcome back, you both look spiffing in the photo smile

Currently everyone's got a lot going on at work, IRL, etc, we're currently we're looking at a quarterly distribution (correct me if I'm wrong Philip).

I know that Scrat's uber busy at work, Philip's just got married, and i'm deployed, so that's us three pretty much out of it for a bit, but it's my most sincere hope that the newsletter does not die.

Keep the faith!

For sure.

Done!

Apologies for the late reply, I've only just got home...

All i've got is my credentials set up for lastfmsubmitd, and the following in my ~/.moc/config file:

OnSongChange = "/usr/lib/lastfmsubmitd/lastfmsubmit --artist %a --title %t --length %d --album %b"

This works for me.

Hope this helps.

I'm not at home atm, so I can't do a direct compare, but that looks pretty much exactly the same as mine... hmm

I'll double check in the morning.

Does it throw any errors or anything or just not submit at all?

Edited for script confusion and me being dumb, lol...

Post your script and i'll compare to mine?

Loving this new one, first change in a while:

New desktop

Apparantly installing gnome-alsamixer fixed it... most strange...

I also have problems with my mic under #!, i'm on 8.10.1 and whenever I try to raise the levels on my mic, it'll just mute itself automatically, it's most bizarre... My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520.

A quick Google reveals that this isn't a #! specific problem, but I'd be uber-grateful for any aid on this, as I'm needing to use Skype pretty regularly to talk back to family in the UK.

If anyone needs any more info, let me know and i'll provide it.

Cheers,

Ed

Good project mate, document and take photos! big_smile

No dramas chief, as soon as I found it I saved the zip to multiple locations, lol...

Huzzah, my wife is no longer using our Inspiron Mini 9 as a printer server and is using it as a netbook!!

It's all down to personal preference, you install it currently, i'd uninstall it if it came installed wink

As launchers go it's all good, I just don't use them...

Here you go, extract into /lib/firmware and enjoy...

The driver is already installed, you need to grab the firmware. I have a copy of it on a USB stick at  home, but i'm at work...

You can get the firmware zipped up on the net somewhere (it's where I found mine) but it's rather a hard search. I'll have a look over the next couple of hours, and update if I find it.
