Do your systems have CD drives that you have chosen not to use? It could be that the installer is giving different options for different hardware.
Nope. The EeePC 901 which I am using has no optical drive.
Thanks for all the info. Will try again with the instructions from the wiki this afternoon.
I copied the Xfce version of Statler to a USB drive using unetbootin. The live session works, but the installer wants to load some CD drivers on my EeePC and then errors out saying it can't load stuff from the USB drive. I've tried multiple USB sticks.
Any suggestions?
Richard Stallman say the same "ban mono"
Nope, he doesn't. He discourages it's use: http://www.fsf.org/news/dont-depend-on-mono
"This is not to say that implementing C# is a bad thing. Free C# implementations permit users to run their C# programs on free platforms, which is good. (The GNU Project has an implementation of C# also, called Portable.NET.) Ideally we want to provide free implementations for all languages that programmers have used."
Calling that a "ban" is stretching it. ![]()
Neither CrunchBang nor Ubuntu have an "open root account". If you mean the fact that root has the same password as the first user by default, that can hardly be called open. You can't even log in as root either.
LOL! Well, I think Katy would object to that. ![]()
Glad you liked the show. We are honoured to have you as a listener. ![]()
Just a quick FYI that we released Linux Outlaws 77 yesterday which includes a review of CrunchEee and CrunchBang .02 ![]()
If you are interested, you can listen to it here: http://linuxoutlaws.com/podcast/77

Wow.... Nice to see #! getting even more publicity. This thing is really taking off, isn't it? ![]()
Hmmm..... What exactly is involved in upgrading? I am contemplating just reinstalling as well...
Wow! The theme looks amazing! ![]()

"For he's a jolly good fellow...!"
I have visions of a cowboy wearing a pinstriped suit. Nice work fabsh!
LOL! Pretty much.... ![]()
Works now. Probably my fault. Sorry about this...
The interface issue is valid, though. ![]()
I really love CrunchEee on my 901. Awesome. Very nice job, corenominal. Now, where are these update instructions? ![]()
Here's my current wallpaper. Thanks to omns for telling me how to do the stripes! ![]()

OK, it maybe a config issue then. Don't mind it. I will look into the matter....
I don't get errors on the .01 machine. Is it the same Gwibber version?
Some things I noticed in Gwibber:
- Laconica servers do not work, error is: InvalidURL: nonnumeric port: "
- CrunchEee theme: post time is significantly bigger font than the rest, looks a bit shite ![]()
Hope this helps! I'm off to bed.
rox-filer: it's too ugly, it's kde ........ HEY, a little more conversation and/or curiosity in there !!!
if you don't use it ok.... but let other people give a try
I never said other people weren't allowed to try it. I just said I think it sucks.
really ??? ugly ???
Yes. Really. Ugly. Ugl-eee.
To me, its just ugly
Yeah, that too. That was kinda implied in the KDE comparison. ![]()
