now that the wii have its own kernel (MiKE_p3) that support wifi, you can ssh to your wii provided that you installed bootmii and launched the linux kernel via bootmii.
I'm not aware of a program for ssh connection on the wii.
I know there is an FTP  server and a Webserver for the wii but no ssh servers. Unless you boot linux..
I suggest you take a look at Wii Linux  and GC Linux for further informations

Hello and merci beaucoup pour l'info. wink
I had no problem connecting to my ssh host but do I need to set a special permission in order to write in it? I can't create files or folders with sshfs unless they are in my host/home/user/ directory.
I want to create www server and in /home/www/
Any advices?
Or should I just create a www user and sshmount its directory? (it seems smarter now that I think about it)

Oh and this is my terminal input

sshfs djakku@djakku.ath.cx:/ ~/oshiro

its an external formatted in ext2 file system.
I have the same error with the sd slot or any usb FAT32 as well..
But it really doesn't matter, my other linux system have the same  type of error with ext3 partition..

I wanted to share my 2cent opinion about the current file manager in
crunchbang:

I have a few different systems in my network and I always need to
transfer files from one HDD to another, be it my personal files to
backup( specially the on my EEE pc), web server-related transfers or
just to reorganise a folder. On windows I used to do that with
xplorer2...(who care 'bout windows, huh lol) I really like pcmanfm for
it's speed but I mainly use a two side pane file manager. Simple
copy-past or drag and drop is not really supported in pcmanfm, at least
the way I felt it was with nautilus or  thunar.

Let me give you an example: backup my hole /home/$user$ directory.

with thunar or nautilus, I can just log as root, right-click and copy
my $user$ Dir then paste it to my backup drive. however, when I do the
same thing with pcmanfm, I have a "no such device or address" error.
I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the permission or the
sub directory copying. Any ideas?

I haven't had that problem with emelfm2 so My vote goes there smile

Here a screenie if you're wandering the interface but don't wanna try

Oh and I'm sure someone out there has  a pretty nice emel2fm config
since it's very tweak-able. If so, feel free to share it smile

is it only skype woh have an choopy sound or whenever you play and audio file?
etiher way when my sound freaks i do
sudo alsa force-reload
sudo /etc/init.d/asla restart

I would aslo recommend elmurato's ACPI script for those who have compatible eee models.
the link can be found in http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=49081

Meh, I was just about to remastersys my custom crunchbang lite taylored for the eee when I saw your smile
I added pyNeighborhood titla and packed pigdin with the facebook and skype pluging plus added ghamashi mplayer-mozilla
you might want to consider some of these for the next RC smile

Did you install crunchbang or do you use it as a liveCD?
If you're using it as a liveCD don't expect your settings restored but if you installed it, that's a problem..

Exellent idea to index all the  helpfull theards Omns, now we won't have to search for them and new members won't have to browse a ton of pages for tips and tricks !
(hopefully as crunchbang evolve, the forum will grow bigged and the number  of threads a well)
I also think,  if the author of thread if ok with it to add them the the wiki as well.
But unlike kestrel i think it would be better to simply rewrite them for the wiki instead of linking to the forum, by rewrite i mean taking into consideration the whole thread discussion and compile an adapted howto based on the answers.
The oo3 or dropbox tips and trick discussion is a good example of what i'm tring to explain
just my 2cent

its not a specific crunchbang related tip but I can't seem to find a way to create any kind of backup/distro by using the remarstersys command on my eee.
My hard drive is too small in to have all the ~/remastersys content.
Could anyone tell me howto change the working directory so I can make a full backup (on /media/disk/ for instance) and even try a live disto of my current configuration.

glad to help smile

I'm with razienwolf on this one,
UUID it a good concept but the way it's calculate is not as logical as the /dev/SDx numbering.
for some reason it still seem much easier to give terminal commands based on /dev/sdX rather than a really long string of number aren't easy to remember.
Plus it make me feel poweless in hacking the grub menu when uuid are used..
I use /dev/Sdxx to mount
but i don't mind automouting with uuid.
Well it's not really an opinion, i'm  just thinking out loud smile

wow I didnt knew the blkid command very usefull indeed

I have the same problem with me eee. Somethimes the sound ficker after long hours of playing music or movie.
It seems that it's a bug in alsa but i'm no expert.
When my sound is messy this is what I do

Open a terminal and type
sudo alsa force-reload
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart

after that I reboot and usually the problem is gone.
Somethime it's persistent so poweroff , remove my battery and wait for a bit
then it's  gone.

Yeah i know that not really a fix o something but it works for me. I hope it helps

I also support VLC or mplayer over Totem and one of the main reason is that i stream a lot of video from ninjavideo.net.  crunchbang is  already packed with all the needed software rep in order to lauch their ninjavideo helper but totem-mozilla plugin can't play the movies while mozilla-mplayer pluging doesn't have any troubles.
Aside from that lxrandr should be included by default to manage the display, leafpad could replace gedit
And for what is worth I prefer the tint2/trayer confing over the lxpanel, i find more eye candy.

hello foolphil and welcome,
I just would like to know what step did you use to install crunchanb on you SD.
I've got an eeepc901 and successfully installed and boot it.
what you need to do is change the install directory of grub during the last step of ubiquity and choose you SD card destination.
by default grub will be installed on (hd0,0).
Click on that drop box and choose your SD card (/dev/sdX)
(X being the letter of your SD card)

Once you finished it you will have to reboot and on the grub menu you will need to uptade your menu.

I hope this will help.
bonne chance smile

Well, It's official now, I'm a crunchbang Linux Fan.
For years countless hours of customizing my operating system have been spend. I'm a very loong time windows user (12 years now!) and during the last few year i used to nlite my distro and replace the explorer interface with bblean, a tons of usefull plugins a a load of portable apps.
I used to use pirated software a lot until I discovered the open-source "phenomenom", its applications a mostly the way they evolved: lots of feedback and everyone can contribute, source code available.. but you don't need to be a coder to get involved, they are other ways smile
Anyway a  blabbering so let me gat a little bit closer to the point..
With the explosion on open-source in one way and (pardon me for this but) windows vista  on the other
I felt like i was only a question of time before I permanently switch to a open-source OS.
I tried ubuntu (and its variations:  gos,ubunte-eee, nubuntu, debian) backtrack, dsl, pclinuxoS and many more Linux distro during the past 4 years
Each and one of them had its charm and its drawbacks. Finally i decided that it would be best if do my own distro, where i could pretty put whatever i want. That being said, I don't have any specific info on how to do a linux from strach. Sure a i have found some document but i don't really have the time nor a powerfull computer to do that kind of task( asus eeepc 901).
I stumbled a distrowach and various forum and found some people talking about crunchbang.
I downloaded and tried it. It's been more that a week now and a haven't switched to xp back yet.
SO corenominal i would like to congratulate you and everyone who contributed to this distro, it works like a charm (i added adams kernel for the eeepc901)
As my linux knowledge grow stronger, i sincerely hope to contribute in other ways that words but so far I spread the word on crunchbang around my friend and familly and at school as well!
cheers and once again congrats,
djakku

I have installed crunchbang on a 901 pc originally shipperd with xp.
here a the steps i followed more than once and had no problem whatsoever so far.
format your usb stick or SD card to FAT32.
Use unetbootin to copie your distro and create a correct syslinux file.
reboot your device and hit escape or whatever is your key to pop up the boot device section.
Select your usb.
Now choose default. Even if you want to install you must charge the default config.
Once #! is loaded install it by running ubiquity (right click install cunchbang on HD).
After the installation reboot.
Plug your ethernet cable and download and install adam's kernel (search google for array kernel and you should find it).
Once adam's kernel is installed. you can tweak you system as you please with acpi scripts or others applet but i haven't done that yet.
