@charlie01: Thanks.
I'm actually redoing my conky config to be horizontal on the bottom of me screen and redoing my tint2 config as well.
It'll get better imho wink

Here's a good comparison of the two: http://hostingfu.com/article/nginx-vs-l … -small-vps
As for starting out with Debian, I'd take a look at Arch as well, seeing as its much more well known to be lightweight (at least to me)
Of course, Arch would require a learning curve, but it's your choice.
I wish you the best of luck smile

Very nice omns.
Just my head goin about: If you removed the last ~$ and make terminal transparent on the desktop, it would make an interesting effect cool

I should stop exceeding myself.
Wouldn't want to set a precedence wink

This is something that I've been looking for for a while now. I can't seem to find a decent headless server that has an esata port for the life of me.
The closest thing that I've found that I want is this:
http://linuxdevices.com/news/NS9634061300.html

Would anyone know of anything simmilar to the link, but has esata interface support? or any DIY projects that come to mind?

Well, so much for working on netwmpager.
Now that tint2 has a tray, I no longer need trayer, and having netwmpager when I can just split the displays in tint2 seems foolish.

+1 when it becomes default in #! smile

I must say, this is much more than I expected.
A lot of creativity smile
Keep 'em comin!

@karthik: What font are you using to display the time (in your Conky script)?

Very nice job you did there rfquerin. Very creative. smile

So is it only booting from USB and not the Live CD?
If so, then you might want to take a look @ your BIOS settings.

As for your second question, the way that people get song info from Rhythmbox to show in their conky displays is by calling external scripts repeatedly. I know that conky has some builtin support for some music players (Audacious and MPD come into mind), but for other players, you need to have a script to connect the player and conky together.
RB is not the only player that can be viewed from conky. Here's a good list of players that can be used: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=751802
You can choose whichever you like, and for whichever one you choose, there exists a script that can be used.
Hope this helped.

The reason that there aren't "one command fixes all" is because of the differences between all of the cards.
As far as i know, historically, Linux has had the most trouble with Printers and Wireless cards.

What kind of card do you have?

Some basic things that you can start messing with would be the Openbox Menu (Preferences >> Openbox Config >> GUI Menu Editor), the desktop properties (Preferences >> Openbox Config >> GUI Config Tool) and Conky (Preferences >> Conky Config >> Edit .conkyrc).

Have fun, and if you need any help, feel free to ask on the forums or on irc. We're here to help smile

Sorry to hear that your having problems vicshrike.
The reason I think that Deluge is included instead of Transmission is because it's quite simmilar to uTorrent.
However, I do oppose of the newest version of Deluge. It seems... incomplete.

So if I understand correctly, this creates a backup of all of the installed packages and uploads them to an FTP server?

That depends on how you taste.
Remember, grues are keen at echolocation and can smell fear.

If your having problems w/ your keyboard, you might want to take a look at this command:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup

I hope it helps...

Surely there's not enough information contained in the checksum for you to be able to recreate the original file?  Otherwise we could use that to create the most incredible compression algorithm...

It doesn't make the file from the checksum smile

It makes random files of the bit length you specify, which is then checksummed and compared to the original checksum. When you hit the same checksum you have the original file, without downloading it.

o.O
Yeah, in that case, we would need a supercomputer. Even for smaller files.
[Me Equating this to Brute force cracking] Brute force cracking takes a looooong time. Even if it's optimized, it will still take a long time.
