Mostly the CSS for all sections of my site {Drupal|StatusNet|Gallery3}.
That is, at least when I'm not breaking all sections of my site {Drupal|StatusNet|Gallery3}. ![]()
Not much point in posting my desktop since it flat out hasn't changed... I have been making a crapload of changes on my website though so I guess it's excusible. Switched my blog from @corenominal's Whird to Drupal and have started my own StatusNet instance since identi.ca seems to be crap lately. ![]()
No, this won't be able to sit in your panel and tell you the temperature. But, someone could incorporate this into a panel plugin fairly easily I'd think. Of course, I don't know for sure as I'm no good with python...
On the other hand, Conky can easily do weather on it's own. Check this link for the conky variables. I've mostly used the NOAA settings with conky in which you'll need to know the ICAO code (it's KSTL for Lambert there in St. Louis
).
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to get CPU, Mem, and Wireless icons in this conky. Also the updates code is not working. As you can see I have a green check mark in the sys tray indicating there are no updates but the Conky is telling me I have 18.
Here is Jpope's lua code which I modified to use Conky Symbols (http://wiltur.deviantart.com/) so I could get a Mint symbol.
I missed this post, it's been a busy, busy week for me. Sorry for the delay in replying. ![]()
Actually, I've got a second version that I'll be posting soon with icons in. Although, I need to check out that Conky Symbols font...
Also, the updates in the conky only check every 3600 seconds (1 hour), it also writes the updates to a file at ~/.config/conky/cairosidebar/upd and it's using
aptitude search '~U' | wc -lto get the updates count. Maybe that will help you track down why there is a difference.
Well, since the Cardinals didn't play tonight...
Isn't that the truth. They kinda quit playing there in the end. ![]()
Hopefully tonight will be better. ![]()
Hmm. Not sure what's going on there for you. Maybe try running the fc-cache command as root.
sudo fc-cache -fvMaybe try logging out and back in...
I have put the .ttf files in /usr/share/fonts/local (no luck)
I put them in /usr/share/fonts/ttf (no luck)
What folder does conky go to for it's fonts???
After placing the font files in the folder, make sure to run
fc-cache -fvin your terminal so your system knows that the fonts are there. Conky should find them then.
Also, sometimes I find it quite handy to get a list of the fonts so I can make sure that I'm calling the font properly in Conky. After you run the above, run this:
fc-list > fontlistand open the resulting 'fontlist' file in your text editor. Then it's just a matter of copy and paste for any font names you need.
I just quickly wrote about this on my blog but seeing that it fits quite well with the CrunchBang mindset, I figured I'd post it here too. ![]()
Curse the weather is a ncurses frontend to a pair of python scripts to pull current conditions and forecast from weather.com.
To grab the source and install: http://url.jpope.org/1s
To read my post about it: http://url.jpope.org/1t
Holy crap. I've been away from these forums for way too long...
Here's my current setup on my EeePC:
Running a Debian Net-install w/@omns post-install script and added in the CrunchBang repos. This is the first time official #! hasn't been on my hard drive in nearly two years. I had to add them in. ![]()
As omns already linked, you can get the conky setup here: http://url.jpope.org/1o
damn, 8.5 months without a post here... #jpopefail
Ok, I reuploaded the file. The new link is here: Link. Hopefully, this one works better. ![]()
ooooohhh! those conkies are so shiny!
what do they all do? (i see buttons)
Well, here's the rundown:
Clock ~ calendar ~ http://blip.tv/file/4638272
System Monitor ~ top cpu and top mem ~ http://blip.tv/file/4638215
Guayadeque ~ current track info, LED changes color depending on what the player is doing ~ http://blip.tv/file/4638392
Weather ~ radar, current conditions details and a forecast ~ http://blip.tv/file/4638221
Plus, all of the LED's blink on and off. ![]()
I need to repackage the clock and update the gnome-look page. Also, I want to get some of the others packaged and released there too. ![]()
EDIT: Added video links.
I'll have to check it when I get home, it works on login on my desktop...
I copied the file over to my dropbox folder via ssh from work... I'll reupload it once home.
Here is a link. <--Right click and Save as...

Also, if you find a icon set that has the dropbox icons, dropbox will use those.
I use the Aw0ken icon set, Link.
I second this request. I use 'notify-send' quite often in my scripts, especially backup scripts being called from crontab. ![]()
Sweet. Downloaded and seeding. ![]()
Nice to see the support for Jezra with the inclusion of Heybuddy.
jpope wrote:If you installed the printer support in statler welcome script, 'fancontrol' was pulled in.
That's a rather odd dependency/recommend, innit?
I thought so too when I first noticed it. However, I wanted both cups and fancontrol so I never researched it any further. Just a good example of the need to always pay attention to what dependencies a package may ask for... ![]()
/\ Good point. Not only stuck on Windows Vista, but using Internet Explorer 6.
They want "dumb terminals," and man, did they ever get them!
This is where I love portableapps.com. I always have chrome, firefox, putty (ssh to home through port 443
), gimp, gpodder, etc... I liberate my "dumb terminals" ever so slightly. ![]()
