First attempt ...
I need to set up my connection manually, but can not save the configuration because it says I have no privileges. What should I do?
PS: I'm using live cd

What surprises me is the person to be totally rude in response to another person who is just trying to help and still defend itself by saying that is actually making a constructive criticism, as it would be impossible to do this and be polite and respectful at the same time.

@corenominal, I would say just that and I'd put the blame on the fact that I was an inhabitant of the third world - I'm not a thundercat - but it seems that the problem is broader lol

I had to restart the downlod because of problems with my connection sad
I'll try the version with openbox first to be more accustomed to it. big_smile

Yeah! Downloading right now.

I would like to bring my witness (do not take so seriously, hehe) on many of the issues raised here. I am a totally beginner User: do not write code, not manage a network or work with databases, but decided to try Linux for a trivial reason, without any ideology wanted something that would make the most of my old machine and had a cleaner look. In describing what I wanted for a friend who uses Linux for a long time (currently it uses Arch Linux) he appointed me the #!. And it was perfect because he pushed me a little for me to understand better the functioning of my computer, but when I spent hours trying to do something the hard way and got stuck there was always another option and easily, so I could try harder later but did not get without using a computer or something. From some time now I have used other distros just to know and see the differences between systems, but so far no one has stolen the place of the official distro #!.
Corenominal, keep the good work and keep it up, prioritizing stability rather than news. And I am immensely happy to know that new version is on its way. : D

PS: Sorry for bad english

Currently I have used the Moc and MPlayer, but nothing compares to Foobar when it comes to organization of MP3. Everything is simple, light, fast and practical and has not found any substitute for it in Linux.

Since I left the Win the only thing I miss is the Foobar sad

Hi Madcomp, I'm using your distro and everything is working ok. I'm using the live cd in the computer of my niece and all the basic works fine. Once I have time I'll test on my notebook. The distro is lightweight and beautiful, good job. As I'm using I'll post the results here

Cool, ADcomp. I will test as soon as I finish the download. If I may I would like to make a small suggestion, try to update the iso in the first post, so we know it's the latest (I started to download the file twice before downloading the last one: D)

Welcome aboard.

Seja bem-vindo.

For all I've read the comments of Phillip I have great confidence in his work and also the spirit behind the #! Keep up the good work. And thank you for this great distro.

PS: Peace and love lol

Recently I had the chance to hear B'dale Garbee speak, and he told that the former President of Brazil was an enthusiastic supporter of Open Source software, and spoke quite passionately about it, and the importance of Open Source to Brazil's economy, and Brazil's rise to become the 12th greatest economic power in the world.

(For those who may not know and do not have the time or inclination to Google the name, Mr. Garbee is a longtime contributor to the Debian project.)

In several sectors of government use of Linux has become mandatory. Some departments of Rio de Janeiro (such as health) are no longer using proprietary software. The measure aims to reduce expenses and encouragement of open source.

I just have one question: have the base Debian will become the #! more difficult for newbie (like me)?

Luckily I have some friends who use Linux. The number of home computers running Linux (Ubuntu mostly) has grown a lot here in Brazil. That's why here you'll find shops selling computers with Linux (Kurumim) and not with the Win, to lower the cost of the machine too.
The closest person that uses Linux is the brother of my girlfriend who was who directed me to the #! and gave me a help at first, but at its best Linux then allowed me to learn alone.
To conclude, I was a month with two OS on my machine (#! And XP) and then faced the challenge of being alone with Linux (and never programmed anything in my life). I do not want to go back to Win.

PS: Sorry for bad english.

Ok, I did. My computer is now called Ma3a (I'm a fan of Tron: D)

A little off-topic: you can change the computer name without having to reinstall the #!?

I also have a problem on the sound. Every time I start my computer the sound is muted. How do I start it on?

Yes, the lastfmsubmitd already with my login information. When I start MCOP I point it to the file that was created MOCP -C ~ / .moc / config so that it uses this file. I made some changes as to not show the playlist and use the black theme by default, but it seems it does not make it scrobble. Looks like I'm doing something stupid. sad
