I'd take Awebb's advice then
ok this was actually just a light hearted bit but whatever ummm really dont know what to say guys actually lot of slamming going here so please disable my account whoever can.
I have been toying with the idea of putting together a simple virtual server to connect to via two terminals in my home. Has anyone accomplished this how did you do it? what did you use?
i am looking at citrix xenserver or running vbox over cb.
I was going through some logs and going through the xorg log found a few things that didn't look positive.

Synaptics - This one is kindof annoying i get all kinds of weird things like scrolling in the middle of the pad and such but here is its's entery:

Any information or direction will be appreciated.
Its really just redhat five rebranded and a release behind. But people swear by it personally im on redhat 6 but centos is a great alternative to those who dont want to pay
honestly i think debian would be a much better enterprise linux but then that would be like an oxymoron or something
you can use documentation from here and it should apply:
http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/index.html
Evolution seems to use panel colors, the dark blues. I know there is a workaround for this i just dont know what it is. thought about just digging through some gtkrc files.
i want to set my panels in gtkrc-2.0 to use black background but then all the dark blue spots in evolution go to the black and make it unusable
@Grzegosz
i toy with the side positioned panel because it does feel more natural just can't get it to stick though
what is up with the tape though anyone know if the premise is possible that it blocks a part of the light spectrum or whatever blocking transmission?
@awebb clever way of saying shut up??
what if they are ssh-ing?
and obviously they are scary adaptive because even pulling the plug doesnt stop them
in pulse a guy hung himself with ethernet cable not sure the type but must have been expensive to hold up like that lol. I also noticed later in the movie the main girl called it a phone chord. I think those are the ghosts of ITs that killed them selves after years of dealing with user ignorance lol.
anyway i love the movie and know others do to and it's on my list this week so let the techy ghost love flow
is there a port i can block on my firewall to stay safe?
merelyjim wrote:the deal was negotiated by Knuckles and Bennie the Fish and began with "nice computer company you get here... be a shame if anything were to happen to it." Netbooks began shipping with WindowsXP (and there was much rejoicing amongst the Vista users) and then Windows7-starter, which you'll find on Netbook sold at the Big Box store today.

its murrine-chrome anyone know awork around for evolution?
side note recently someone somewhere i knew was convicted for murder recently and my wife once got in an argument with this guy over job related things and really tore him a new you know what. He actually apologized. any way it just hit me my wife cussed a convicted murderer for me she is so cool!
does anyone know if its possible to do this through totem?
maybe not rtmp plugin for totem?

something im working on
Wow everyone seems to have such exciting hobbies.
Me I read. Old books not many new ones. The Virginian is actually my favorite. I fix things. pretty much anything. I like to take things apart and get to know them. I like to constantly learn new things. I really like to fix cars not classic or roadster just fixing needed cars. I like being a mountain for my kids to climb. I like the quiet and sitting in the quiet. I just like to put pieces together and make things work then tear them apart again and start over.
definitely should have read your answer to tunafish's question. lol
anyway seems to be working great
ok im using it now how can i check to make sure its executing correctly? where would i check for errors?
it does seem to have lowered cpu usage
if i use gnome-power-manager do I need to disable it when using this?
Just wanted to point out the fact that this is one of the largest benefits of the debian world. The amount of documentation that is available in both debian resources and ubuntu is phenomenal. Although some ubuntu wikis have to be altered a bit they are still an extremely valuable resource to all debian users. I actually start by fixing my problems in debian first and then migrate the changes to the other machines running redhat and fedora. Ubuntu documentation is extensive and can be helpful in any linux area really
actually that doesnt mean im reusing the same password. but i do see how that could develop i actually use a few different ones and throw in some variations if i get too paranoid. plus i dont actually believe any email outside of a local mail server to be secure.
again what part of what ive said screams that i go signing in to a bunch of sites other than ones i have to use this is about the only one i log into on a regular basis. The other sites it takes me awhile sometimes to recall the pass but i eventually get it and they keep it on their servers anyway so now that ive thought it out my inconveniencing myself is just that.
I think your missing what I'm talking about.
Not that I use plymouth splash but the shift about the time of
Loading please wait....
waiting for /dev to be fully populated....
and then it kicks over.
Thats what its supposed to do the kernels I build that are the same are newer do not do that and they use standard font.
Yeah i cant figure it out i cant figure out what it is i need to google or go look up. The only way i know how to describe what i'm talking about is this:
when i boot from all the distribution kernels about the time the plymouth splash would start the videomode is set and the text gets smaller.
on the ones i build from source the video mode doesn't change until gdm kicks.
I mean the only way to make things easier on ourselves is to knowingly hand over some privacy. The easier it gets for us the more abstract it becomes. We get farther outside the layers.
i gladly hand over the responsibility of maintaining the base system because that is handled well by someone far more intelligent than I, But they have also been operating under a set of rules for distribution that puts choice on my level and it should be my responsibility to understand what my choices are.
just noticed ive moved up to #!junkie wow im actually hooked on something non-self destructive for once lol
I guess if that is what you want but i dont really like my browser remebering anything im doing.
I dont save passwords to anything because if its slightly inconvenient even for me how much more inconvenient is it for someone trying to get in?
I thought this was in the interest of security not ease?
I enable it when i need but for normal browsing it really isn't needed if you have a cable or dsl connection the only "benefit" you are loosing with no cookies is their ability to track your browsing but even with that google keeps it remotely so their is no difference there. Java script does have to be enable for alot of interactive sites but not for browsing for information and what not
i dont really even need flash because most of what is using that is ads i dont want to see anyway
