Another one that is light and gets the job done is Gnome-Commander.

My understanding is that Moblin is mainly an Atom cpu based distro...

Get the 'unofficial' iso and unetbootin.....use that to put #! on usb stick....should work just fine.

smile

The 'unofficial' release has worked just fine for me so far....was a small color-issue bug at first, which has somehow resolved itself, so it's all good so far.

For my 2-cents worth, Firefox is the best browser...with all the available extensions, themes, plug-ins....what other browser can top all that?......none.

My current desktop with tint2..

All the different conky's use this font or that...always have a hard time finding the right one....why not start a font repository that people can upload their fonts to.....make life easier for alot of folks. Just an idea...

Ok...probably been said before here somewhere, but...download the HP USB Disk Storage Format program...you can google it to found a source...format your USB thumbdrive to FAT, from the repositories, download and install Unetbootin and use that to put #! Eee to your thumbdrive. Should work for any thumbdrive...worked for me.

Edit: There is a Win version of Unetbootin, so it could all be done from XP.

I like pypanel...use it for my desktop and my Eee 900.

I have had that pic for quite awhile and don't remember the 'where', but will gladly share it.

That's what appeals to me most in Linux....you can take away what you don't like and add what you do like...#! incorporates stuff from several wm's...probably what makes it appealing to so many. In the end we all have are own opinions, that what keeps the forum so interesting.

Truth?....it has a nice gui somewhat similiar in appearance to gnome and kde....and that's the truth.     wink

Obviously you have never used LXDE...or you wouldn't ask that questtion.

Personally....I'd like to see LXDE as the default wm for #! Eee...it just looks good (to me) on my Eee 700 and I run #! Lite with Openbox and wmii2 on my desktop pc and it give a nice diff between the two.

I've installed the elmurato script on my Eee 900 without issue...works great...thanks for all the good info.

Ok...I have used Awesome in the past myself, but have come to liking dwm once I learned the ropes a bit....think a tiling wm might be even more fun to play with in a dual monitor set-up of on a single monitor of 22" or more. Have fun.

ggordon

Try the tiling wm that comes with #! called dwm.....the web site for dwm tells all..check it out.
