I was looking at the Advent one, since it has a built in 3G modem. Just needs the SIM.

I have an EeePC 701, and I like it. The cramped keyboard actually makes my typing better.

Comments: Works with both the standard Crunchbang and Cruncheee, although Cruncheee has issues with video playback (small skippings every 30 seconds or so). For Cruncheee, I used Riceeeytweak's commands selectively to fix the shutdown problem (just in case), make the system go into standby when the lid closes, and to create the overclock application. Bluetooth requires the standard apt-get install bluez-utils to allow the usage of passkeys, but that's Ubuntu, not Cruncheee. Boots up in about 47 seconds regardless of version (after editing GRUB's boot intervention window to one second), Wireless connection is instantaneous if previously recognised.

First off, just want to thank corenominal for Cruncheee. This is the first real Linux-based OS that I've truly enjoyed, learned about using on a regular basis, and have had on my machine for more than a week before thinking about going back to XP. All can be as expected, with scrolling and text entry having their occasional problems, although I think that's more down to the specs of the machine (early adopter of the 701) than the code itself.

I do have one problem though, and it's a bit of a trivial one, but for me, it's an issue. VLC will slip up while playing video files occasionally. I have a USB Hard Drive that has the files on them (converted from a laptop HDD), and when playing it occasionally skips, both with sound and video. There's a short blank spot (The last frame remains displayed), and a gap of audio before it goes on as if nothing happened, entirely skipping the section of video. It's not the video file, nor is it the EeePC at fault (all video files play fine on my desktop, and when my EeePC had XP on it, or Ubuntu Eee with VLC installed myself). So, something has to be interfering with it. The CPU is at 40-60% while playing the video, and I've upgraded the RAM to 2Gb. Is there a solution?

Thanks

EDIT: It's not Crunchbang at it's core. It's CrunchEEE. Installed Totem on CrunchEEE to double check, and the USB live version of Crunchbang works just fine.
