Wonderful wallpaper and excellent choice of music!

Are you from Greece?

Nope, I am from the US.

Here you go (the wallpaper)

I have made the changes and mpd --create-db. Now this is my terminal session afterwards.

on3iropolos@on3inet:~$ mpd

Aborted
on3iropolos@on3inet:~$ mpd --create-db

[playing] #1/212 0:00/4:13 (0%)
volume:100% repeat: off random: off single: off consume: off

It remains at 0:00/4:13 and no music. Please stay with me a while longer so I can get this fixed! I don't understand why I would be having so many problems with it... I installed a fresh copy of Statler Alpha 2 just a few days ago. Thank you for your help so far.

Thanks, I was able to resolve that issue, as well as a few others that came up. Now, however, I can run mpd without any errors, but mpc ls returns nothing, even though there is music in my music directory. Also, mpc ls | mpc add and mpc play do not return anything other than volume:100%   repeat: off   random: off   single: off   consume: off.

I would like to thank you for your help so far. An updated version of my .mpdconf file is located at: http://pastebin.com/KW8BmeuE

did you try

sudo killall mpd

try that, they try running mpd normally again.

if that fails try changing .mpdconf
this line
log_file                        "/var/log/mpd/mpd.log"
to
log_file                        "~/.mpd/mpd.log"

or

sudo chmod go+w /var/log/mpd/mpd.log

assuming its a permissions issue

Having some strange problems... I followed this to the letter and it all worked great, until I tried to run mpd and mpc ls

Here is information that I believe is relevant:

Thanks for the suggestions. I like to change my wallpaper often, and I am not sure what your talking about with conky, nor am I too proficient with conky.

Is it possible to achieve this? I can only have the border going all the way around, but I just want the border on the top.

So to continue this, why would this have happened? I am pretty sure that I selected the correct keyboard layout at the install?

What happens if you run the following command and select the correct layout?

sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

Note, you may need to logout/restart before the changes take.

And.... rebooting.... IT WORKED!

Thank you sire.

I did figure out how to log into the system. The \ is a # on british keyboards. But how do I change it forever?

I installed Crunchbang Statler Alpha 2 on my eeepc 1005ha.

In the installation, my keyboard was set to United States English. I have a # in my password, and a # is SHIFT-3 on an USA Keyboard. However, now, when I go to login, if I type SHIFT-3 it gives me the British pound symbol. My whole keyboard is set wrong, for the login. How can I remedy this?

*also, I should note that it's Xfce edition.

Any chance I could get your conky?

It appears to have fixed the problem. I'm marking this as solved.

I have installed wicd and so far, it's working great. I prefer it over nm almost immediately. I'll play around on the Internet for a while, and if it doesn't disconnect me in a few hours then I'll marked this as solved.

Thanks omns, I will look at that, it sounds like it might just fix the problem. I'll report back with a conclusion.

I just did more googling, and I found Unison (http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/)

It appears that this is in the direction of what I am looking for, as opposed to rsync's one-way syncing. However, would this still sync my settings, such as conky, dmenu, and even my applications installed?

I recently purchased a netbook, and plan to, in the future, purchase a desktop. Is it possible to (over wireless hopefully?) have all my files and settings on my netbook synced with my desktop, so any changes on netbook made at work would be reflected on my home desktop after a wireless sync once I got home?

Is anybody able to help me with this, at least let me know the commands to show more information regarding it.

I am running CrunchBang Linux 9.04.01 (Lite)CrunchBang Linux 9.04.01
It's running on my Asus Eee 1005HA netbook purchased refurbished from TigerDirect

Here's the rundown on my problem, I haven't been able to find any solutions by searching.

After a reboot, the wireless works. Eventually, seemingly random, it disconnects me from my Belkin N1 Wireless Router. After I am disconnected, it attempts to reconnect, but never does. I do not have alternative networks in range that I can try connecting to. Logging off/on works most of the time, the wireless will reconnect after I log back on. However, sometimes that does not work, and a reboot is required.

I also have troubles connecting wired, may be my newb-ness, or related problem.

I am sure I haven't provided enough information yet, but I do not know the commands to type to show related information.

Thanks for your time.
