Ive never heard of that brand of monitor. Id generally go for Samsungs.

Also if that computer has the Phenom I (aka Agena core), Id consider an Intel instead. Secondly, if you dont plan to game much then you wont need the 9500GT SLI which is a gimmicky anyways. Better just having a single slightly better card like a 9800GT.

The Mysterious one makes good points.
I to only purchase Samsung LCDs and I would go with Intel as well.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out my major in college right now and I'm thinking of computer science.  I've always loved computers and such...I like building them, trying new distros, I enjoy them.

Does the College or University near you provide Information Technology or Computer Engineering Technology?

I would take a programming course (C, Java) and networking/hardware (LAN or WAN) course and that may help you decide...you don't really have to decide now what you want to major in or do for the rest of your life...However, I personally enjoy the technology field and recommend it. wink

big_smile .03 wow! That is great news!!

Oh, a comment about terminal apps (just my personal opinion)

Would terminal apps be better suited as an 'optional' package rather than default in the main edition?

- Terminal apps have basically the same functionality as GUI apps
- Size considerations
- Advanced users, old school, and / or light users typically use terminal apps (VIM may be an exception)
- Terminal apps (default) maybe better suited for the lite edition

Happy Birthday!

The .trash folder isnt the real trash location. Dont know why it exists though; I just deleted it.

Just as your true identity...the world may never know... tongue

8.10.02 is working great; however, I do have a couple of things... (which may have already been addressed).

- Even though I have never really been a fan of the 'trash' folder, deleting file(s) really deletes files! wink  I do see a /.trash folder, but it is always empty.

Is this by design?

- I am not sure PCMan 'Find Files' is working correctly.  I created a text file called test that contains the word text and is located in /home/steven...'Find Files' could not find this file in /home/steven by searching the file name or the file content.

Should I file a bug on launchpad?

Anyway thanks again for the new version!

I just installed CrunchBang Linux 8.10.02 and its great! Thanks!

CrunchBang Lite 8.10.02 doesnt have them. Were they not good or did you (Philip) just like lxpanel more?

I am hoping tint makes it in the full version of CB (8.10.02).

Nice work Seth! If you have time would it possible to create a 1280x1024 of this design?

Hi, all!

It's about 1 degree above zero, Fahrenheit, here and my car won't start, so no work for me today. So I figured I'd introduce myself, as I've been using #! for about a month now and love it.

I was bitten by the Linux bug when Fedora Core 1 first came out, November of 2003. When Ubuntu's Hoary Hedgehog was put on a Linux Pro Magazine coverdisc, I became so impressed by APT and Ubuntu's polish of desktop Debian that Ubuntu has been a constant on my computers, even when I've checked out other distros, Ubuntu was always my backup/failsafe OS. Been MS-free for all that time too.

Found #! about a month or so ago, and was blown away by finding a distro that had pretty much been set up/preconfigured the way I'd do it, if I had the time/knowledge/inclination.

Thank you, corenominal, for the great distro, thanks to zwopper and omns for all the great artwork I'm using, and thanks to all the forum regulars who make tinkering with Openbox, conky, and the Great And Terrible Command Line Applications and Menu so much fun!

I've made a bit of a review at my blog, if any are so inclined to check it out : http://overclocked.wordpress.com/2009/0 … f-openbox/

Its about 30 here in Mississippi right now and we are freezing, I can't imagine if it was 1! neutral

Welcome back!

...I'm thinking about coming back as BlackBerryAddict (just got the 8330)...its the best device ever!

lol:D

Foomandoonian, I know this is not a solution to your initial question, but have you checked out mtpaint (GTK appl) as an alternative to Kolourpaint?

http://mtpaint.sourceforge.net/

Hmm, well, mtpaint seems to be more powerful but less elegant than KolourPaint. I'll give it a proper test drive. Thanks! If nothing else, I love finding new useful graphics apps. big_smile

I'll give Revelation a look, but it's nice to have a cross platform password manager.

I agree mtpaint could use an interface upgrade.  In any case, I see that your actively colouring with something as your Foomandoonian is back in colour again! tongue
