I know what you mean gutterslob. We'd need Emerald or maybe Metacity to handle a pixmap window titlebar.

I never really thought the carbon look was for you though, your style is quite deferent, very good and very 'you' - This carbon look is very me... for now smile

I have tried this with a number of desktop images, still the carbon desktop and carbon gtk is may favourite, but it does go well with quite a number of wallpapers - If you like the carbon look that is wink

@pvsage, no performance loss here.

EDIT: Here is how Chromium looks

EDIT2: icons

anycoloryoulike run the script to alter them from default

and anyone interested in editing the theme to add a different texture... Just replace /gtk-2.0/Panel/panel-bg.png and /gtk-2.0/Shaddows/window-bg.png with a new texture

radical change for me, my 3rd carbon fiber texture in a week.

I loaded a screenshot of my desktop with a conky in the same place on accident as my background

It crossed my mind but when you said it appears after a few seconds I dropped that idea..

lol all the same, well done for solving it - and giving us a laugh.

lol @ your signature. smile

Is your new conky a direct replacement for ~/.conkyrc or is it a new file?

try "xkill" in terminal and click on conky, it should kill the top one and leave the bottom.

autostart is the place to look and for something that has sleep 3s && conky &

I'm not sure where else this 2nd conky is being loaded from. Can you think of any other adjustments you've made to the system?

Same "night-friendly" setup from yesterday.
Only change is the wallpaper, which is a crop from a bigger image.

Cheers.

slick

For a while now I have had a /swap and a large /data. Each new distro just gets one partition that I use as root and home combined.

I mount the /data into the /home of all distros so that I share documents, images, movies and so on with them all.

With this setup /home never gets large as it only has settings. Giving a separate /home for all distros soon has you with too many partitions to keep a sane hold of.

nice work

best way to start is find a theme and edit it.

Then check out all the possibilities in the top link @annonymous gave as you'll find some extra things to play with.

^ now that is unique, nice Graphic Art

not too much change round my end of town

I recently tried the RC too, great bit of work.

When I was on debian I dumped Iceweasel for Swiftfox. It is a while ago but this memory leak in Iceweasel rings a bell.
