Nevermind, installed Windows.

80 views, no replies? hmm

My sound seems to work fine, but once I plug in my headset (standart ports, not USB), things go crazy.  I have an Asus Eee PC 900A, and I've been trying to use Skype lately.  When I open up the audio control panel using super, my PCM volume starts going crazy.  It doesn't let me drag the first bar up, and they become unlinked automatically.  Sometimes it shoots both to the bottom, sometimes the right one goes to the top and the left one is at the bottom.  If you try to drag the left one up, it pulls back at you to the bottom.

Microphone input seems like it's not working.  Loud stuttering static with barely any audio transmitting, and no matter what I change, I can't fix it.  The headset works fine on my main PC running Windows, so it isn't an issue with that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the replies!  I've done the swappiness trick, but the fstab one already has relatime, which I think is fine.  It sounds like Compcache actually uses your RAM for some sort of compressed swap?  Am I reading that right?  If so, maybe it doesn't need to be removed, as it's not using the SSD.  Though, I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about!  Any clarifications? smile

I just checked gparted and there is no swap partition.  Do you think it's just a Conky display error, or is there something else going on?

Thanks!

Hi all,

My post before where I had issues with the USB install was fixed with a simple reformat of the USB drive, suggested by another poster.  Thanks for the tip!

Now that I have Cruncheee installed on my Asus Eee PC 900A, I chose a large single partition with no swap partition.  After verifying with the installer that I did not want swap, I notice that Conky is displaying a 0 / 249.92 of swap space.  How can I disable the swap entirely?

Thanks so much!
