I installed ubuntu server on a machine I had. Plugged in a drive that was booted #! so that I could copy some data off it. I was unable to mount the #! drive, try as I might. I tried to boot the #! drive on its own and now I get the "grub rescue>" prompt. Seems the drive now thinks it's a LVM2 drive. I can't get it to mount using any of the LVM tools because it complains there are no logical drives. Is there any way of getting data of this drive or is it borked?
Cheers.
Conky 1.8.0 and I have both Lua binding listed. Basic Lua scripts will run but none of the funky stuff you can do with cairo. Running the lua scripts from the command line produces the error listed and it seems to be choking on the 'require cairo' statement.
I've been trying to get some lua scripts working but I can't seem to get past :
require 'Imlib2'
require 'Cairo'
Neither will load and I'm not clear what I'm missing.

I would agree with this assessment. I recently switch from using 64bit to 32bit and have not noticed any change in performance. More things tend to work out of the box with the 32bit version as well.
Trying to apply the debian wiki fix gave me this :
sudo dpkg -i ia32-libs-workaround-499043_0.0.1+squeeze1_amd64.deb

Unpacking ia32-libs-workaround-499043 (from ia32-libs-workaround-499043_0.0.1+squeeze1_amd64.deb) ...

Can anyone tell me what's going on here?
Alpha2 i686 also does not appear to have this plugin/java problem.
In case anyone cares, this problem is limited to the AMD64 version of alpha2. I've just installed the 486 version and am not experiencing any issues.
Well, I don't get it. Clean install. Nothing funny installed. Open up iceweasel, go to CNN, click on a video link and volia :

Stuff just doesn't work.
Thanks. Appears to be something funky about my system since it's been borked from first install of Alpha2. Perhaps I'll try a clean reinstall and see what happens.
How do I switch it from IceTea to Sun?
Thanks for the link.
I can't watch CNN video content :

Any chance you could put Alpha 1 back on the download site? It's nice to have the option.
Thanks.
Is there any work around for the IceTea problem? Switching to lemonaid perhaps?
Is the "copy public link" supposed to work with Openbox/PCManFM? There doesn't seem to be a dropbox entry in the right-click menu when you're in the public dropbox folder.
Embedded videos on CNN.com no longer work under alpha2. Perhaps something to do with the new JVM. Can I revert to whatever was being used in alpha1?
Has anyone installed Statler on a Acer Revo?
Do you have desktop compositing as well as "Enable real transparency" enabled in terminator?
What's the GUI that earlier #! versions use to share folders with?
Thinkpad T42: Suspend and Hibernate result in no audio and sometimes no network when it comes back on.
I'm finding that right-click on pcmanfm file items is screwy with cairo-compmgr. It tends to simply open the item instead of bringing up the menu. Doesn't appear to be the case with thunar.

Setting browser.backspace_action to 0 does make backspace go back one page. Thanks for that. I still have a tendency to reach for RightAlt-left_arrow to navigate back however.
I can't give up my 'clicky', built like a truck, Model-M. Best keyboard ever made.

Thanks for the confirmation.
