Topic: chrome and video

Hi guys,

Just wondering

Very often chrome has buggy video playback. Nothing chrashes per say - it's just that after a few hous uptime, chrome will not play video correctly. The audio gets all messed up, and sometimes the video it self seems to be speeded up or something.

A close / start chrome fixes it.

Do you have any idea what could be the issue? - I am nearly always on chrome - but I dont think iceweasel had the same problem (not completely sure though)

Sincerely
Andreas

Re: chrome and video

It's probably Flash that's messing up, rather than Chrome. Although it could be the combination. I know I've had that issue too, but that was some time ago. Is your system fully updated?

Re: chrome and video

I have also noticed that some Flash video (Vimeo for instance) does not work in Chromium but plays OK if I use Firefox. It even happens (but very seldom) for Youtube.

Re: chrome and video

Thanks for the input

For me everything works - untill it breaks. It's not the way e.g. MartinRF describes, where youtube works most of the time. If video dont work for me. Videos dont work untill I restart chrome.

The system is dist-upgraded everyday.

Could it be some weird conflict between sun-java and icedtea? Maybe a "purge openjdk*" could solve the problem? What do you think?

Re: chrome and video

I think you only need one java?

BTW if you wish to contact me, send me an e-mail instead of a PM.

Re: chrome and video

Yeah - I guess - but I didn't think it would be a problem. Anyhow - since I need sun-java for a specific program I will purge openjdk and see what happens. Thanks anonymous

Re: chrome and video

Have you installed chrome from the launchpad daily build repo?
