Topic: SOLVED!! - Unable to install VB 3.2 via synaptic

Hi all,

I'm trying to install VirtualBox 3.2 into an up-to-date Statler, but get this from synaptic:

virtualbox-3.2:
  Depends: libqtcore4 (>=4:4.7.0~beta1) but 4:4.6.3-4 is to be installed
  Depends: libqtgui4 (>=4:4.7.0~beta1) but 4:4.6.3-4 is to be installed

I have installed the "Maverick" repository and key from the VB site.
I get the same dependancy call whether I choose "Always prefer the highest version" or "Prefer versions from statler" under the Distribution tab.

Would I harm the system by manually installing these versions - providing I find them?

Maverick? As in Maverick Meerkat? The Ubuntu repo?
Statler is based of Debian, so don't mix up Ubuntu repos and Debian repos. That might be your problem.

You're right, of course - silly me. Statler is Debian, not Ubuntu roll
I removed the Ubuntu repo, and grabbed the Debian VB spin from their site. It depended on libqt4-opengl (in my case) which was easily satisfied.
