Topic: md5sum check

Okay so I am aware of the command

md5sum Example.ISO

to check a sum, but this question relates to the option via the Thunar FM upon right clicking an .ISO.

1. How does this option come about (via thunar,a custom script installed by #!, etc.)

I'm just wondering for educational purposes, and so I can replicate it in my Debian install. lol

Re: md5sum check

If its Thunar, you can go to the Edit menu and then look for an item like "Configure custom actions".

Re: md5sum check

It is, and thank you! Just learned one more thing, so as long as I install Thunar that shall appear, if that is a defaulted action; is it?

Re: md5sum check

Its not a default action (actually I don't think Thunar has any) so you'll have to set it up manually. You can just copy your Thunar config though (~/.config/Thunar).

Thank you for all your words of wisdom anonymous, and I had planned on it, along with a bunch of other config's wink
