Topic: XFCE vs Openbox for turning into an awesome wm machine

I'd like to use awesome with the latest release of statler.
What do you think would be the easiest?
I know openbox comes with a lot of openbox-related configs and what not, which would soon be useless when I use awesome.
I'm not sure how much xfce installs thats just xfce.

Basically, which will leave the least cruft?

Thanks.

Openbox would have less cruft but neither would really have an (negative) effect on your ability to use awesomewm.

I went from #! openbox to awesome with no problems. There are a few utilities laying around I don't use but they don't bother me. Also nice to Openbox ready to go for a guest account....others are less comfy with Awesome.

its just me on my laptop. I know they wouldn't necessarily interfere with awesome, its just those extra utilities, like you said jmbarnes.

I think i'll go with openbox, just in case I get bored of awesome (but honestly, how can i get bored of something so awesome?)
