Topic: Installing awesome wm in crunchbang?

Hey all.

So i was using awesome in ubuntu, now I want to use it in crunchbang.

My problem is, there are no packages in squeeze, however they are in wheezy(the new testing) and sid (unstable).

Does anyone have a link to a deb or a good guide for compiling from source?

Thanks.

Compile it yourself? Shouldn't take that long on your laptop wink

Otherwise download the packages needed from packages.debian.org

Let's do it and don't screw it.

Yea, i'm compiling now. just wished there was an easier way, as its pretty much me scrolling through cmake figuring out what I need to apt-get.

Very strange. I am almost certain I installed Awesome from repo not long ago and now it is gone.

It shows up in Synaptic for me. Fresh install of the latest #! build.

I was in the same boat as Martin.
Looked again, its now in squeeze.

But im having problems. The clock is 24 hours, and I don't know how to change it to 12 hour.
And also, I have no easy way to log out of the computer...

any ideas?

Pick it up from Debian Unstable if you are allergic to compiling from source like me

Awesome is in the Squeeze repos now.

Re: Installing awesome wm in crunchbang?

It is in Squeeze. I've installed yesterday, but it's the version 3.4.6. Wheezy, Sid and Ubuntu have the 3.4.9
