So I need to test some new software for the office, and I figured I might as well collect some kind of data I could play with at the same time right?

This is a pretty short survey (about 5 minutes) that asks some basic questions about your Linux experience and various preferences.  It’s really straight-forward; all I ask is that you be honest.  I would like to get some good data from this, as I think it might be fun to look at.  Also, please feel free to forward this link, repost it, etc.  My goal is to hit the the Arch, and Gentoo Communities (I got those covered), and also get the Ubuntu Community (my friend has that covered); but I would like to hit other communities as well.  The more data the better!

For those of you interested I am probably going to be doing some basic correlations on the data, and possibly some T-tests and ANOVA’s.  Depending on how those look, and the amount of data I have, I might do some Regressions and/or Hierarchical Regressions.

Thanks for your help! big_smile

Completed. smile

Re: Linux survey

For some strange (and unknown) reasons, I love tech surveys. Nice fact: #! is mentioned in the survey.

I'm so meta, even this acronym

Re: Linux survey

i was als surprised to see #! in the survey but what surprised me even more was that arch wasnt mentioned
#! seamed to be the only non-independent distro in the list

Re: Linux survey

Completed. Indeed it was strange Arch wasn't in the list whereas Crunchbang was. (Still, nice to have #! in there!)

Let's do it and don't screw it.

Re: Linux survey

I'm pretty sure Arch is in the list since I remember selecting it.

Re: Linux survey

Ok I see it now. You can select Arch as your current distro (question 5) but its not available as distro you've tried (question 6).

Re: Linux survey

I wonder if they'll release some stats. Would be interesting to know what people who use CB as their main distro think of it.
