Topic: KDE3 distro?

Hi!

Does anybody know distro (preferably installable, based on Debian would be fine) which still uses the good-old trusted KDE3.5? Distrowatch (I think) writes that Pardus uses 3.5, but I didn't find anything about it on their website. Slax is still using 3.5, but is not installable (I think!)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Re: KDE3 distro?

I'm not sure about the data validity, but since it come from the official KDE website, i think it still up to date.
According to this site CentOS, Vector Linux and Backtrack Linux are based on KDE 3.5.
here it goes:

Re: KDE3 distro?

The just lately released Pardus Corporate 2 uses KDE3: http://liste.pardus.org.tr/pardus-annou … 00096.html

(but it's not based on Debian)

I tried it recently and it really rocks. The only problem is the small repo.

Re: KDE3 distro?

Guys, many many thanks for this! I have completely ignored KDE's own website big_smile And yeah, Pardus Corporate 2! dom, are you using it? You mention the small repo, so I checked their binary list.. "pisi", what kind of packages are these? Anyway, what is Pardus based on? big_smile

Quite exciting big_smile

Pardus? it's independent, my friend. I think this one is a good distro.

Re: KDE3 distro?

A distro using KDE3.5.10   which is based on Debian is Mepis 8.0

Mepis 8.5 uses KDE4.34

and a source for KDE3.5  which can work for Debian

         http://trinity.pearsoncomputing.net/

Another which offers a choice between KDE3 and KDE4  is Kademar

Get Dropbox and an extra 250 mb http://db.tt/wAizqw0

Re: KDE3 distro?

How ironic, I tested Mepis 8.5 a while ago, and must have missed the 8.0 release. Thanks for the information! Debian Trinity looks nice too, especially because it doesn't contain anything else than just the KDE3.5 repos. I've just finished downloading Pardus Corporate 2 as Installer ISO and will give it a try, and later compare it with a netinstall Squeeze with Trinity KDE on top.

Really thank you all for your comments and ideas so far!

Re: KDE3 distro?

I think this is still 3.5. No idea if it's Debian...
