Deus Ex on WINE
Deadly Premonition on the 360
I don't really play games besides a select few flash based ones (like Red Rogue) since I moved to my netbook but I have recently purchased the humble bundle for Voxatron and it's running without a hitch and it's fun even if it's still in alpha.
Oh and I also play Legends of Yore but only on my phone.
@jeff
Original DE or HR?
i don't know yet if it works in wine, but everyone on this board who loves black and a good creepy game should check out LIMBO! - I'm not a gamer really, but this game is so well designed, I just loved it.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection when it comes out.

I can safely assume that everyone on this board loves black ![]()
^Because the light hurts lol

Bit of a challenge / question here:
I was thinking of hosting a laptop-based LAN party, and I'm trying to think of a freeware shooter / RTS / whatever that we could all play. I've got my #! netbook, and my compatriots have a mac laptop and a windows machine each. Any suggestions of a good freeware or OSS game that's also cross-platform?
Urban Terror runs on Linux / Mac / Win & supports local play.
Debs can be found here
Excellent! Thanks!
I've only been using #! for about a week or so and I love it! I added the playdeb repositories and installed desura and djl and am able to load and run all those games well between them all! I love the look and feel of #! and how fast it boots and how low the resources are (64mb of ram at boot!). The only issue I had was adding items to my right click menu and pipelines. I just wish I had a way to make an ISO of my configuration to make a gamer edition of Crunchbang. I used puppy linux before that but it would screw up so often id have to reinstall it and all the programs and flash. I love how #! codecs and flash are installed and work out of the box. I also wish they had a wubi installer to install it within windows so i could do 64 bit #! on my main gaming pc. either way on my 1.6ghz centrino hp laptop with 1gb of ram #! is smooth. It would be cool if crunchbang could run within ram like puppy but still runs as good without! I wish more pc games were using opengl instead of directx considering opengl has better fps at least on the older games. And opengl would really open support for games on linux. Still havent been able to get playonlinux to work to install steam and experiment with that any suggestions would be awesome!
Just fell into "Saints Row: The Third" recently .. combine a absolutely weird and funny story (.. have you ever liberated a pimp out of a BDSM-Club? Have you ever fled from enemies with a horse-drawn-wagon drawn by the same pimp you just liberated? If not .. well - play the game.) with Open World-gameplay and a whole lot of stuff to try out and find out.
So, I've gone back to playing WoW on my Windoze install and I can't help but imagine how much better it would run in #! like everything else. But I can't find a guide that explain how to well enough to do so, anyone know of one or would be able to walk me through it?
I quit playing warcrack a long time ago but it was pretty simple to get running even a long time ago. I remember just copying over my WoW folder, installing wine from the repos, and double clicking the exe in my file manager and it started right up. Apparently, ever since they added native openGL support, some users actually have a lot easier time running WoW in linux than in windows. http://www.wowwiki.com/World_of_Warcraf ty_on_Wine is probably a good place to start.
Currently playing Skyward Sword. I'm about 45 hours into it currently, and it's definitely a great addition to the Zelda series. Admittedly though the controls took a bit of getting used to. This was the first time I used motion+. But once you get used to them you realize how great they are.
I'm currently playing F1 2010 because I find it somehow better than the newest version. Rushing through second season in a Virgin car with a full set of 100 points after 4 races (obviously, the difficulty is set to expert). Pretty fun game for a F1 freak.
WoW is installed on my hdd with Ubuntu and Windows an of course buntu won't let me run it because it isn't authorized. Trying to ftp the 17gig folder between my boxes but can't get them to connect to each other again... If it is that easy to run though I will certainly keep trying.
Ok, got it copied over and it opens up the game ok but I can't patch because the launcher needs write permission and I think I've got it enabled but it isn't working. I opened Thunar as root and enabled read and write permission for the whole folder.
Do this to the folder. This assumes that the folder is in ~/.wine/WoW and that your user name is koala3. You will have to modify the command to suit your installation.
sudo chown -R koala3 ~/.wine/WoW
sudo chmod -R 774 ~/.wine/WoWThat will set permissions recursively, meaning the folder and everything inside it.
Still gives me the bit about needing permission to write. When I go to properties all three sections have permission to read and write and still no worky ![]()
Also tried just running it off the Windows HDD with a SATA-USB and I get the same permission error.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Hopefully that's it for the new releases for the game.
Is it utterly pathetic that I'm fully addicted to AsciiSector atm? ![]()
