The lazy way: a character map.

sudo apt-get install gucharmap

Re: ANSI colorschemes scripts

^ thanks! had some trouble with the other suggestion, suppose i'll do it the lazy way since i won't be using it that often.

I find the best way if to cut an paste from somewhere else.  This is one of the uses I put that "graphics_utf" script to.

@muzieca How do you change your terminal name so that it displays your name in different colors and that awesome break so that you start typing on the next line?

Highlighting is my expertise. And it make's reading more fun.

Re: ANSI colorschemes scripts

It is a variation on this theme:

PS1="\[\e[01;37m\]┌─[\t]──[\[\e[01;37m\u\e[01;37m\]]──[\[\e[00;37m\]${HOSTNAME%%.*}\[\e[01;37m\]]:\w$\[\e[01;37m\]\n\[\e[01;37m\]└──\[\e[01;37m\]>>\[\e[0m\]"

Copy/paste this in your $HOME/.bashrc file. Somewhere near the end of the file should be OK.
Then, in a terminal window:

source $HOME/.bashrc

and tadaaaa..

If you poke the bear it is going to come after you.

Re: ANSI colorschemes scripts

^^ for your own reference, it is called the 'command prompt' or 'bash prompt'. for an explanation of all the weird characters etc, read this: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Bash-Prompt-HOWTO/index.html

Re: ANSI colorschemes scripts

Coming late to the show here...

Is there a way for me to have one of these (already saved a couple to my ~/bin folder) automatically top my terminator window?  That would be cool...
