"Unstable" in Debian-talk means "constantly changing/developing."
There is no alpha/beta/experimental/explosive software in Sid! Every package there has been deemed release-worthy by its upstream developer. Then Debian takes over and tests how all those packages work together before they decide it's Stable enough for a new release. 
Well right...but it's still hilarious that Debian sid is more stable than Ubuntu LTS was... 
Unfortunately, ever since Squeeze went Stable, it's been so frickin' hard to make *anything* go "Crunch! Bang!" in Statler Stable! When things go "Crunch! Bang!", that's the exciting part - that's when you actually have to *learn something*, and the community here at the forums is usually able to help us get over those little hurdles.
We'll actually, I have a serious security issue with my firewall... I just posted. Today I almost banged my head against the keyboard after having discovered that I went 4 hours without it.
And now even that issue is fixed!!!! NOOOOO!!!!

That just shows how evil the disclaimer is.:P I knew sid to be quite stable, and I was like, what ?! based on sqeeuze and still all these bells & whistles about the dangers ?

It has been suggested that the disclaimer acts as a filter, keeping out people who would complain about it if not working perfectly, instead of just going on with life and fixing it.
Btw, fyi... the nVidia bug I mentioned lasted two weeks, not 8 minutes lol

Anyways, if you install CrunchBang, your computer definitely goes CrunchBang!

I agree with Meik as well and you've hit the nail on the head ... my computer is CrunchBanging along every time I fire it up.

I was looking forward to something a little exciting and perhaps a little less than stable! I didn't find what I was looking for, but I've decided that this is the distro for me anyway!

people with the courage to find out "what's wrong with this distro that might go CRUNCH BANG!" soon find out - "Hey - it doesn't" and stick around BECAUSE it works - now they play with other things, not always "having to maintain" the OS allows that quite nicely.
Although, there are a few, I won't mention any names but one has the initials S11, who have managed to break things by treading into deeper waters than their knowledge pool. There are more, but basically, if you leave #! alone, it leaves you alone.
