Topic: Shiny!

Hi there! Just tried out CrunchBang (got turned on to it by Popey from the Ubuntu UK podcast). I gotta say: Very well done. Might review it on the show soon. big_smile

Now, just one question: Where can I get that nice Hubble wallpaper from the screenshots section? smile

Best wishes,
Fab

Hi fabsh smile

I am honoured that the great Germanmacsnitzel has entered the forums big_smile Seriously though, it is good to see you here, I have been an avid listener of your show for a long time. Yourself and Dan are doing a great job with the show and have really filled the void since the demise of LugRadio. Keep it up!

Regarding the wallpaper, no problem, I have created a new wiki page:

I really like that wallpaper, it is my favourite Hubble shot. I am sure you do not need telling, but for anyone not in the know, it is a shot of the Orion Nebula. On a semi-related subject, I subscribe to Nasa's Astronomy Picture of the Day feed and get a fresh image from space to boggle at nearly every day. If you have not seen it, check it out.

Re: Shiny!

Thanks for the kind words, mate. I really hope my eventual review will do you justice. So far, I am even considering to switch to CrunchBang fully (I'm running it in a VM as we speak). Now, to get me even to consider to move from Ubuntu uis high praise indeed... wink

Thanks for the link! I've always loved everything about space travel and I think space pics like this are absolutely beautiful. Awesome as Jorge would say. I'm slowly building a huge collection of Space Wallpaper (my desktop is currently sporting a Hubble image of Andromeda). BTW, have you seen this? http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/10927

Keep up the awesome work! big_smile

I look forward to hearing a review, I am just hoping there are not too many crap alerts in it! big_smile Switching would be a very brave thing to do, you are a true pioneer, either that or you are a glutton for punishment wink

Thank you for the link. Some of those images are amazing! I too am a big fan of all things spacey. I find looking at the images to be a very humbling experience, it really does help to put things in perspective.
