Topic: Compositing under Xfce 4 and video tearing

As I noticed, Xfce, either 4.6 or 4.8 has video tearing for example with VLC or SMPlayer watching movies when compositing is enabled. If I disable it, it works just perfectly.
It is also somehow a known "secret" issue as I could read on the Xfce Forums, but not on all hardware. I have an Intel integrated and the tearing happens only on Xfce, either Xubuntu or Debian.

I know there could be a workaround disabling compositing while watching movies but I am not expert enough to figure out how to do that.

Maybe someone here could provide a workaround for it. I saw something on the Arch forums I think, but cannot remember anymore.

I hope I posted in the correct section. smile

I didn't have a workaround, I just manually killed compositing in the settings manager.

That is also what I did but I would like to have an automatic script, maybe I have to hack something.
