Topic: minimum width of forum

for the attention of those with the apropriate level of admin priviledges to change such things on the forum...

it's incredibly annoying, that in order to see the forum properly, i have to stretch my tile boarder (window size), to more than 2/3 of my screen.  leaving only a tiny column for my editor and chat, or whatever else i have on screen at the time.

i had the same issue with my forum, which uses punbb (which is similar enough to fluxbb), and managed to get it so that it still manages to shrink the forum width to keep even phone users happy.  i dont recall the location of the settings (i think i was fishing around in the css)... but i hope the same can be done for crunchbanglinux forums.

please make it so that the width can go smaller before the side scroll shows up and ruins my day.

thnx for reading.

Re: minimum width of forum

Have you tried the "toggle forum width" button on the top left of the forum page?
You should be able to choose a "fluid" layout. I can close my window down to 863px before getting the scroll bar - is that still too big?

Re: minimum width of forum

I have no trouble viewing the #! forums on my Motorola Milestone 2 (480x854), my Galaxy Tab 7" (600x1024) and my EeePC (1024x600). Press http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/img/button-width3.png and be happy.

I'm so meta, even this acronym

Re: minimum width of forum

Is the "forum width" status, as toggled by the icon at the top left, permanent? Is it saved with your account details if you are logged in? I can't be sure, but it feels like I have to select it each time I login...?

The color and width seems to be stored in a local cookie. I have the right setting on every device without manual interaction.

Ok, thanks -- good to know. I'll check cookie settings.
