ScrotWM, definitely.
I've used a few, but after discovering ScrotWM, I can't seem to escape it. I like how it doesn't baby you with fancy layouts or workspace memories. It's also the fastest tiler I've tried (noticeable on very old hardware) and it still uses Xlib, just imagine how much faster it'll be when they change over to XCB. The simple config is definitely a plus, but I was familiar with Dwm and Xmonad before trying ScrotWM, so syntax wasn't exactly a problem either way. It kinda feels like a saner DWM and lighter Xmonad to me in many ways. Most importantly it doesn't attempt to be a DE like so many other tilers these days (cough... awesome... cough).
WMFS would be in second place. I'd use it more if it was less CPU-hungry.
If both projects suddenly die, I'd probably go back to Dwm.
