Topic: [Solved] Making #!-xfce look and behave "normal"

Personally, I love using xfce in a (nearly) unmodified out-of-the-box #!-setup.

I do, however, have to install a laptop tomorrow for my 71-year-old mum, who started using a computer about 5 years ago and has only used KDE 3 an xfce-mint up to now (never seen MS-Windows, the happy soul).

I would love to use #!-xfce for her machine, but she needs Icons on the desktop and a menu button.

Is there a quick and easy way (I promised her to do her computer tomorrow) to change the configuration for her needs?

I confess that I did NOT use the search function for this problem, because I just did not know what terms to search for.

All help highly appreciated.

Kind regards, Bernhard

I could be wrong but, I think that if you delete the xfce config files from your users home directory it will load the xfce defaults from the xfce package, not the #! ones from /etc/skel. Make a new user and test it out first.
