If w9wm isn't working out for you, the windowless, borderless etc ... features you want are easily done with a minimal Fvwm configuration.

Which one to choose if I'm a total beginner? Using only openbox, but I'd like to make use of full HD resolution and have a lightweigh and easy to configure wm.

@ Grzegosz: My first tiling-wm was Awesome (before I was using pytyle under openbox for a short time. Awesome is a really complete and comfortable wm, BUT the config file is written in lua, which is an advantage if you know lua or can adapt to programming languages fast. I couldn't and configuring Awesome was a horrible experience for me, even I learned a lot and all in all it was a more or less smooth transition to tiling. Scrotwm is more minimal than awesome (no native systray etc.), but feels lighter and the configuration is a simple textfile.

Don't make me weak, I've been trying to stick to Openbox for about two months now, but I can't get myself away from tiled systems .. roll

I found scrotwm to be easier to configure since there is just the one file to edit - pretty straight forward.

I've been happy with Wmfs, you should give it a spin too.
Plain text config file on it also.
