Also got a new rig. Basically had to trade two laptops for it, but it runs #! beautifully.

HP dc7700s

Ram: 1GB(only ddr2 desktop ram I have in the house is ECC, so I have to wait until I can upgrade)

OS: Dual boot XP Pro and #! 9.04(if I can get a cheap copy of Wind 7, I will probably run a VM)
Using a WMP54G(broadcom chip) PCI adapter. #! installation was fast, and no problems with partitioning or the other basics(sounds, resolution etc)

This old box just refuses to die, I have had no problems with it since I bought it.

Bored at school, so i write my system here too:

Runs smoothly, running one virtual machine(WinXP) under crunchbang too, without any problems.

All right, I got to tell you, Warsow is running on it sometimes... :-D
And hmmm yes, yesterday I tried Yofrankie on it, 'couse, last time it was a horror, thank's to the recent Xorg-Intel package..
, but now it works fine... :-D (yes, I know, I'm 33, but look at that cute, evil little face... Yofrankie rulez!)

Runs fine. I tried Linux Mint Fluxbox CE before, memory use was a bit heavier on mint but not much (maybe 30 MB) but #! boots remarkably faster. Of course mint is a bit user-friendlier but I don´t mind editing config files most times and once the system is set, I won´t touch it anyway.

I will do the same for my primary computer, an old Dell laptop hooked up to
a 24 inch Dell TFT monitor. I just want to say that this distro runs more smooth
than any other distro i've tried so far. The laptop is really old and crappy which
makes it even more fun, everything works very well. I like the idea that
old hardware can be used for a longer time.

Operating System: dual boot #!Crunchbang and Mint
USB Ports: 6 x USB 2.0 (4 Front + 2 Rear) I can only find five! Puzzling!
Mouse: Kraun with nice pretty changing coloured lights
Keyboard: Apple wired aluminum. A dream keyboard. You can have lots of fun discovering where they have hidden the # character, as there is no key.

A great set up which works as quiet as a mouse and surprisingly responsive. I have no problem doing all the standard stuff, as well as web development. Gimp is a little slow on large image processing but I can live with that. Am going to add a further gig of ram.
Crunchbang works a treat on the Atom Ant.

I have Crunchbang on my Samsung NC10 netbook too. Zips along!

I remember getting a 350Mhz machine back in the late 90's.  it was so FAST!  What happens?  How come 350 Mhz was fast then (and i was doing 3d graphics on Windows 95 for a living) yet now is excruciatingly slow?  What's happened to the OS's?  Shouldn't they becoming more efficient, not less? 

Perhaps you should pop on Windows 95?
