After some tweaking I am finally happy with my setup.
^ I'm guessing Debian running wmii
@aaro
Awesome!! You should pimp your apps to have em use your term bg, man. I know it's not easy getting the colors to workable contrast levels on bright setups, but you'll have fun trying, at east. ![]()
Same wallpaper as my last netbook scrot last month, but with a bright term this time.

@vastone is that a stovetop?
It's gotta be a stovetop, or possibly a stove-like burner on a gas grill.
@vastone: From that red flame, it looks like you're burning off a bit of schmutz at the 1:00 position.
(I spilled a little batter on a burner once, took forever to clean it off...)
After some tweaking I am finally happy with my setup.
Looks really pretty!
@vastone is that a stovetop?
Yes, or rather a single burner from a gas stove.. Which is now what I have and am using after my move..
I love to cook and having gas again after so many years using an electric stove, I am thrilled.. Gonna cook a feast for the whole #! community to enjoy ![]()

I like it.. Share the wallpaper please...
Purchased an old/new laptop for university work, have to write my dissertation, so I installed something really stable. Obviously Debian Squeeze but this time on Gnome again. Wow, what a nostalgia and with flashy Compiz.
Squeeze with Gnome works like a charm. Made a minimal install of Gnome, that was fun because Gnome pulls a bunch of dependencies. All in all I am happy with it and have to test yet how it compares to my minimal Xfce install.
@ dlm955 Nice!
@ gutterslob Classic as always!
@ pvsage.. lol, a brand new stove and no spillage yet, Sector11 sent me that background.. I have not unpacked my digital camera yet to take my own pic..
@ ivanovnegro Nice .. rockin the classix!
@ el_koraco Very nice
@ PackRat Fvwm looks great
@ aaro Nice!
@el_koraco, @pfh, @gutterslob, @VastOne : Thanks all for your comments/feedback. It's appreciated.

@el_koraco, thanks for the link, i'll look into it. But i must confess i really like mc's theme, it's just a classic and it sings old school, which is my second name ![]()

@pfh, I'm using good ol' debian (stable) with wmii as my main these days. wmii may not be the prettiest wm out there but i find it so functional and easy to use that it has become my main. But as usual i keep a few other wm's in the rotation, and other systems/distros i keep them in vm ![]()

@gutterslob, that's right man, bright bg's don't get along easily with colors. That's why i tried to make a color scheme that could get along with both worlds and could be easy on the eyes no matter what the app colors are. Of course, only my first steps learning from the masters in here
BTW, that last one of yours looks like a great candidate for a light bg, i'll take some tones out of it if you don't mind ![]()

Ok, Conky says Gnome uses 110 MB at idle, incredible! Just 20 MB more as my Xfce. ![]()

SUPER!!!! I'll bring the desert! Melting fresh raspberries into the chocolate now.
Rest assured, I am using non-fattening raspberries... and lets not forget my official taste tester!
I'd say he's satisfied.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm chocolate coated frogs legs. ![]()
This should do for the weekend:
@Vegetarian: Slick!
This should do for the weekend:
That tray looks out of place there, I think. Still like your style, though! Have you been testing any elementary apps lately? They won't build anymore on Arch ![]()

Maybe I should darken the theme or something, it does look out of place doesn't it?
No I haven't tried any other eOS apps other than good old Slingshot, Dexter and Lingo. Maybe its time to move back to Ubuntu so you can try them out? ![]()
Unia wrote:Have you been testing any elementary apps lately? They won't build anymore on Arch
I used slingshot, wingpanel, postler, dexter, marlin and mayya (the last two via the sandbox app or whatever) about two months ago. Promising, but very buggy.
Could you link me to how I install Maya? Thats the one I have been most looking forward to for some reason.
