I've started using FTP to push podcasts & files to my phone. Its easier then mounting it via USB. Plus, the transfer times seem faster.

Currently I'm using swiFTP on the phone and FTPcube on the computer. There is another handy ap for when you're done moving files is SDrescan. It just refreshes the SD card so all the file changes show up.

I've had a Galaxy S for a while now and the DarkyROM's have kept it up to date. That said, I think I'll move to HTC for my next phone. I recently acquired an Incredible S for my daughter's use. Tis a sweet phone.

My eldest son has had a Samsung Galaxy SII for a few months now and he loves it. Massive phone, almost a tablet! He ugraded from a HTC Tattoo.

Middle son has a Wildfire too, not rooted or anything though,.... yet!

Me, I've had a HTC Legend for about 18 months now. Love it. Rock solid aluminium case. Not bleeding edge but good enough for me. Just got round to rooting it (quite difficult on this phone as it had to be rolled back earlier firmware and loader). Now got Cyanogemod 7.1 RC on it and think it's even better. Only problem, WIFI does not work on my home router, does at work though!

Exactly. I go there a lot to monitor projects for updates, but trying to read the threads makes me want to punch myself in the face with brass knuckles. If the users of that forum read at least the last 5 pages of a thread before posting, there would be half as many posts. Instead, you get the same question asked 5 times out of 15 posts, and at least 5 of the remaining 10 are duplicate answers to the duplicate questions. The other 5 are usually random people coming in to thank the developer instead of just using the Thanks button.

I've heard that RootzWiki is better, but we'll see how long that lasts. XDA was awesome until it got popular. When it got popular, everyone from teenage girls to grandparents were going there to root their phones and find cool ROMs, and of course, the teenage girls and grandparents can't be bothered to read anything or search to see if their questions have been answered. Instead, they go through the trouble of creating an account and typing out their question, and then waiting several hours (days, even) for a reply when they could have had an answer in <5 minutes with only the hassle of typing a keyword into a search box. Then, when they're told they should have read one or two pages of the thread instead of making a new post, their reason is that they didn't have time. They didn't have 5 minutes to read so they spent 10 minutes creating an account and posting the question, then waited hours for an answer? The stupidity on that forum amazes me.

Sorry for the rant. I really want to like XDA, but the members of the forum make that difficult.

Got a Samsung EXHIBIT II the other day, and still playing with it. Don't see the advantage in rooting it just yet, but maybe soon...

But the Nook color I bought a few months ago, that's going to get rooted to full Android as soon as I can find where I left my microSD card. If Ubuntu pulls off their whole "take back ownership of your mobile devices" strategy with Unity, may have to try that as well.

i have a galaxy s 2, rooted, cyanogenmod rom, i love it, and i put debian inside mine too i've seen graphical environments done, real lightweight ones like lxde, but i havent managed that myself.

.I just got an Asus Transformer (TF-101 32 GB) and keyboard dock as well. Android 3.2 is great, and I have been using it as my main machine for a couple weeks, but it can also run Ubuntu natively. Not being a huge Ubuntu fan I hope I can ram a Debian testing install on here instead of Ubuntu, and then crunchify it. I'll report back if I have any success.
