Topic: wmii help

hello guys, could anyone explain me how to start programs on startup in a windwos? for example (skype in im or google-chrome in www). and how to start network manager i can't connect on wmii.
Thx and sorry for my very bad english smile

Re: wmii help

For network manager, you need to start nm-applet. For the other apps youll need to set your variables up and i dont know how to do that i only use there specific command. I believe you need to run

        sudo update-alternatives

That link will show you how to set up auto start. From what i can tell its all done in the wmiirc.

Re: wmii help

Haven't worked with wmii really but a google search wink got this, which might help you.

For the network-manager issue, I don't know if wmii has a tray or statusbar for that matter, but if it doesn't I would try nmcli I believe it was, which is the command line interface for it if I remember right.
Or install wicd and use wicd-curses.
