Topic: GMA500 + JoliOS + #!

This might be a bit stupid to ask, seeing as I know almost nothing about the kernel. I also wasn't sure if I should post it in help and support. Anyway, here goes:

I have a GMA 500 on my eeepc 1201HA, so any of you who have that graphics chip can imagine my troubles. I love #! but sadly haven't found any way to get Poulsbo working on it. The only distro it has worked on, and has given me what I need (smooth video mainly) was JoliOS. So here comes the part with the "stupid" potential.

I've heard that the GMA500 works on JoliOS because of their kernel, which was specifically modified for that card. Now, not knowing how all that stuff works, I believe that maybe I (or anybody with the GMA500) could use their kernel with #! to get the functionality I want.

So if somebody with more knowledge about that subject could please at least look into it and answer, that would be great. If it's not possible, you should know that I fell so much in love with #! that I will probably sell my netbook and buy another one just to be able to use it properly.

edit:
Oh, and I believe this is the JoliOS repo:  http://apt-int.jolicloud.org/

Re: GMA500 + JoliOS + #!

I would check out this wiki page for information and then follow the two Ubuntu forum posts at the bottom of that page that details how to get the GMA500 working... They may be of some help...

An other possibility worth investigating might be:
Keep your joliOS with working Poulsbo and install the parts of crunchbang that give it its typical look and feel on top of that.
