Pretty much the same as the last one, just with a different wall and changed the folder icons:
^ I really cannot believe that the fonts look so good under KDE. Oh I said that already earlier. ![]()
Some KDE coming in here lately. I am giving it a spin too, thanks to Koleo. Don't think I will switch DE anytime soon, maybe distro.....
My Kubuntu is still pretty standard. So far I only picked a custom Plasma theme because I really like Oxygen (both colors and icons). Thinking of installing Oxygen-transparent again, though. And perhaps http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ox ent=141254

Well, I just went and installed the Oxygen-Appmenu. Don't think I like it that much...
@negro
Yeah, Ubuntu really is good with fonts ![]()
@Unia
There is a regular global menu for KDE as well, click. ![]()
@Unia: hey, it looks like Windows!
But it functions way better ![]()

I know, but I'd rather use that with a nice dock, which sadly isn't available for KDE (as in qt version)
@Unia: Global menus or other funky stuff is pretty much useless in KDE since you can just hit ctrl+m whenever you want to hide or show the menubar in all kde apps.

But not in other QT apps, so when you want consistency you have to use either an Appmenu or a global menu
EDIT: Or just show all menus but yea.. ![]()

You could install the Smooth tasks plasmoid, and put it on a second panel. Make it big, set it on autohide, and there's yer dock :Đ
Yeah, KDE looks a bit like Windows but that is rather the traditional interface, I like it so far. I have to say the scrots impress me of KDE.
Yep, already tried that too
There's also this that looks way more promising than Smooth tasks! Still gotta look into installing it though..
Here's my setup now with oxygen-transparent:
You don't need a dock, you have krunner for that. I always wanna use KDE when I see the scrots, then I remember how much it dislikes my computer.
On a brighter note, I've gone full vim, removed all the other editors from the system.

@xe_NULL
The ascii characters in my conky are ◢ and ◤ put together. I got them from here.
By the way, nice crunchbang logo in your wallpaper. Your work? Good candidate for an ascii colorscheme
The wallpaper is mine but the logo was designed by holt in the crunchbang logo competition I just thought it looked awesome and made a png of the logo. I think it would look cool in a colorscheme script too. I might edit mine.

Can I ask you which plasma theme is this?
I did not realized that there are so many KDE users among the crunchbangers until now.
May I suppose that openbox/xfce/minimalistic users are more attract by KDE that Gnome3 as a "heavy" DE?
Next time I boot my Debian Squeeze KDE partition on my netbook I will join the party with a screenshot ![]()

I wanted to say the same.
This month seems KDE centric. I used it shortly with 4.6 and I was impressed but something always went not to my likings. Still cannot imagine to use it again but it was/is fun to play with KDE.

Exactly, is really fun and attractive to use.
As a regular XFCE/OB user (I always set up both sessions on may machines) I was thinking the same about the K "Oh no, all that bling bling is not for me!!"...Instead, when I install Debian Stable on a second partion on my netbook I chose KDE as DE, just for fun, just to see if I could make it run nicely on netbook...and I liked it!
I still use Wheezy with XFCE and OB as my daily OS, but sometimes I gladly boot KDE.
For everyone interest in "starting" and exploring KDE, I suggest you to start with Squeeze...its KDE 4.4.5 is really really stable and can keep you away from the usual annoyance that sometimes KDE brings with it.

KDE 4.7 on Kubuntu 11.10 is rather stable too, at least for me it is!
I tried kde inspired by this thead, and all I can say is "Too much buttons!" I instantly came running back to scrotwm (in terror) which I'm comfortable with. I thought I was actually going to enjoy it, but I just can't.
^ That is one of the points I have with it, there seems to be too much. One of the reasons I do not use it productively. I like to have many options, that is why I use Xfce and it seems I won't go the Gnome 3 route but KDE is just too many of all the options.
@Milozzy
It's Glassified, one of the highest rated ones.
Another thing to note about Debian KDE, is that it seems to have somewhat less "bloat" than Kubuntu. It uses almost 200 MB less RAM than Kubuntu here (Debian 180-200, Kubuntu 380-390), and that's with Strigi, Nepomuk, Akonadi, and some startup daemons disabled on both. Too bad I'm one of those people whose machines Debian just doesn't like...
^ When I tried e.g. Xfce on Xubuntu 11.04, it used on startup 140 MB similar to Squeeze with Gnome and Xfce on Wheezy here uses 90 MB, I thought what the...?
