Pretty much the same as the last one, just with a different wall and changed the folder icons:

Some KDE coming in here lately. I am giving it a spin too, thanks to Koleo. Don't think I will switch DE anytime soon, maybe distro.....

My Kubuntu is still pretty standard. So far I only picked a custom Plasma theme because I really like Oxygen (both colors and icons). Thinking of installing Oxygen-transparent again, though. And perhaps http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ox … ent=141254

There is a regular global menu for KDE as well, click.

But it functions way better

I know, but I'd rather use that with a nice dock, which sadly isn't available for KDE (as in qt version)

But not in other QT apps, so when you want consistency you have to use either an Appmenu or a global menu

You don't need a dock, you have krunner for that. I always wanna use KDE when I see the scrots, then I remember how much it dislikes my computer.

On a brighter note, I've gone full vim, removed all the other editors from the system.

Can I ask you which plasma theme is this?

I did not realized that there are so many KDE users among the crunchbangers until now.
May I suppose that openbox/xfce/minimalistic users are more attract by KDE that Gnome3 as a "heavy" DE?

Next time I boot my Debian Squeeze KDE partition on my netbook I will join the party with a screenshot

Exactly, is really fun and attractive to use.
As a regular XFCE/OB user (I always set up both sessions on may machines) I was thinking the same about the K "Oh no, all that bling  bling is not for me!!"...Instead, when I install Debian Stable on a second partion on my netbook I chose KDE as DE, just for fun, just to see if I could make it run nicely on netbook...and I liked it!
I still use Wheezy with XFCE and OB as my daily OS, but sometimes I gladly boot KDE.

For everyone interest in "starting" and exploring KDE, I suggest you to start with Squeeze...its KDE 4.4.5 is really really stable and can keep you away from the usual annoyance that sometimes KDE brings with it.

I tried kde inspired by this thead, and all I can say is "Too much buttons!" I instantly came running back to scrotwm (in terror) which I'm comfortable with. I thought I was actually going to enjoy it, but I just can't.

It's Glassified, one of the highest rated ones.

Another thing to note about Debian KDE, is that it seems to have somewhat less "bloat" than Kubuntu. It uses almost 200 MB less RAM than Kubuntu here (Debian 180-200, Kubuntu 380-390), and that's with Strigi, Nepomuk, Akonadi, and some startup daemons disabled on both. Too bad I'm one of those people whose machines Debian just doesn't like...
