Topic: Website "Back to Top" Suggestion

Hi,

this post is not rly for the #! Operating System but for #! website.
I think that it would be usefull for the users to add an arrow pointing top or just the word
TOP at the right of the "Report" "Quote" at the end of every post.
Otherwise it would be helpfull if u added in the end of the page so when
someone reads a post and wants to go quicly to the top to search something
esle dont have to scroll all the way back, especially in some posts with tons
of repsonses.

If u want i can also provide some JavaScript code tha will display an arrow at the
right (or left if u want) of the site when u scroll a bit down and hide itself when in
the top of the page. An example of this arrow can be found http://vlahonick.com.

I know is not big deal but some ppl may find it helpfull.

CTRL + HOME works in most browsers.....

true that but some ppl dont know that, or they eat with 1 hand,
read and use just 1 hand to navigate the site while they eat.

anyway if u think of it us  a silly suggestion del the post. no big deal smile

it is a good idea. however, i think corenominal is working on a total revamp of the #! site (moving from crunchbanglinux.org to crunchbang.org), so it is conceivable (and i think i might've even read about this literally) that this would include a new forum. of course, there is no saying whether a new forum would have the mentioned option, but i think with that in the pipeline it might not be so useful to make changes to the current setup?

^What? (Must be SPAM, maybe a mod can extract that)...  Anyway, I too, like vlahonick have wished for a "top" link because I often navigate the site with one finger on the touchpad.  However, and this is embarassing, I was not aware the "Home" key would take me to the top of a FireFox page...I'll be using that a lot, at least until, and likely after, we get a "top" link on the new site.

btw you can click the "Report" button if you think a post is spam, to bring it to a mod's attention.
