fan control on my acer aspire one ZG5

Hia,
I just installed crunchbang 10.10 on my acer aspire one ZG5, and am VERY happy with it, almost everything works out of the box and what is not I fixed using the dedicated page (http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/howto/aspireone)
I did not use the Kuki kernel but the regular one, and since everything works so well do not really see a point in changing it.
I have read though that the fan control on the acer aspire one is bad.
When I try to listen I hear the fan working properly and am wondering should I be worried?
should I install some special fan control application? this was never a problem in windows (which Ive been working with for the past 3 years)
is there anyway to check this?
could it be that it just works fine?
any thought, idea or suggestion would be most appreciated.
