26? damn impressive. i usually sneeze only once.

Unfortunately, it was the ER today.. at first it looked like appendicitis and scary as all hell, but it turned out to be a kidney stone and she is home and fine now..

I was too scared to remember to ask the doctor about the sneezes.. smile

When I die, and if there's a God to whom I can ask questions... I got a list. "Why the hell do we have an appendix," is one of them. Glad to hear she's doing okay, and sorry to hear she had a rough start to the New Year.

Thanks merelyjim.. We did in fact discuss that today at length..

I appreciate it..

Re: Grüß Gott!

Dude, appendicitis (and even kidney stones) is nothing to sneeze at!  (No joke intended, and I'm glad it was "just" kidney stones.)

I usually start with either gesundheit or salut; on the second sneeze I use the one I hadn't used before; on the third I say something like "OK, now you're just an attention whore."

while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );

Re: Grüß Gott!

@VastOne: ah man i can imagine you being scared. i don't have children but i'm sure i'd feel the exact same way in your position.

Re: Grüß Gott!

Vast One, I hear kidney stone can be very painful, I know appendicitis is.  Poor child -- give her our best wishes, will you?  neutral

It is considered unfriendly in my family to say anything. Depending on the intensity of the sneeze, the human body might be in a highly alarmed state, in wich any diversion of attention could lead to a far more unpleasant feeling than the sneeze itself. The last thing a sneezing person needs, is being reminded that somebody else is around. A sneeze is not a fart. That's why I say gesundheit when somebody farts.
