[solved] gksudo + synaptic

Hi All

I'm in the process of build a script to recreate #! xfce, and this is a learning experience for me and I will post it here in the forums when I'm closer for comment and suggestions.

I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me sort my current issue out and I know it's been solved because it works in  in the real version.

I have a working desktop very close to #! xfce and what I would like to know is what have I missed as synaptic fails to start with permission errors? If i run gksu synaptic in a terminal it starts with a problem. I could resolve the problem by editing the menu item, but I'm hoping there is a better way.

TODO:
gdm theme
grub remove debian image replace with #! image
install plymouth network-manager (currently using wicd) gedit (currently using geany)
